Not for the dancing, gorging, or potential to meet pretty girls, although those were all definite perks. Parties were an open invitation to all the fancy treasures you could find in the host's home. Here in the 1st Kingdom, the rich enjoyed sharing the wealth with their wealthy friends while the poor were left out on the streets to starve. No matter though, crashing parties was one of Robin's many useful skills.
Masquerade balls made it way too easy, so for the sake of sportsmanship, he decided to give himself two handicaps. Number one, no Merry Men would be attending this mission. And number two, he would be masquerading as the infamously handsome Robin Hood.
The costume consisted of a hooded Lincoln green cloak and a red feathered mask with a long beak. How much more obvious could it be? Well, apparently not obvious enough for the doorman. It's easy pretending to be rich: just act entitled to everything, walk around with an air of self-importance, quickly flash your fake invitation, and you're all set! Robin didn't know who this humongous manor house belonged to, but as soon as he was waved in through the marble, chandelier-lit hallway he knew the owners deserved to be robbed.
He grabbed his first party favor from a pedestal on his left. Right in the open was a porcelain bust of some random old lady, but he didn't care to read her name from the plaque on the bottom. The thing that caught his eye was the sparkly ruby encrusted into her brooch. All it took was a little twist to screw the bugger out and introduce it to its new home inside the over-sized pocket of Robin's cloak.
With a small curtsy Robin dismissed himself from Old Lady and spun around toward the main ballroom. It was an even bigger jackpot than he expected. Between all the guests it was jewelry galore. Score! This is gonna be an easy night, Robin thought to himself as he trotted toward his first target.

And through the rising and falling apart, We discover who we are Lily sighed as she once again walked around the ball room, trying to stay out of sight. Wondering how in the world did her father, sisters, and brother-in-law had convinced her to come to a ball in the first place. It was common knowledge that Lily and balls don’t mix. Even though it had been years since the incident, just being in a ball room gave her flashbacks to her childhood, back to the days she had been forced to dance every night until she fell asleep. She didn’t understand how her sisters could continue dancing after all of that, in fact several of her sisters were out on the dance floor right now, while many men lined up to sign their dance cards. After all, Lily and her sisters were known as the finest dancers in the first kingdom, even though Lily refused to dance anymore.
This morning had started fair enough, that was until her eldest Sister Ashlee had announced they were ALL invited to tonight’s masquerade. Naturally Lily had a fit, how could her sisters do this to her. They knew about her aversion to balls and dancing. Even after her sisters had repeatedly promised they wouldn’t force her to dance a single dance, the youngest Duke’s daughter had taken manners into her own hands and hid in the manor’s attic, until one of the maids had found her their hours later. Needless to say that hadn’t pleased her father that much.
She had to admit the angel costume that Evelyn and Georgina had picked out for her was pretty. Though at first she freaked at, thinking they had wanted her to be a fairy. The satin and lace dress was white and silver with silver wings attached to the back of it. In lieu of a mask, Lily’s face had been dusted with a thin layer of silver glitter with rhinestones placed at the corners of her eyes. While a thin silver chain with a small teardrop shaped crystal rested on her forehead. When she had looked in the mirror she noticed her sisters had made her gorgeous. She knew her sisters must have placed so much effort in order to try to convince her to enjoy herself as the party, but Lily refused to go along with their scheme. She planned to be miserable so they would never force her to go to another part again. With that in mind Lily continued try to avoid her sister, not paying much attention to where she was going. LOS LATINOS SE ROBAN EL SHOW Puss In Boots smiled devilishly as he walked down the hallway towards the masquerade. He wasn't exactly supposed to be there due to the fact that he hadn't originally been invited... nor was he a welcome party crasher. He probably had multiple husbands (both rich and poor) who wanted his head on a silver platter in the first kingdom. They were all probably jealous of the fact that their wives simply settled for their husbands instead of having the one and only Puss at night. He had such fond memories of this kingdom... So it was impossible for him to stay away as soon as he heard that a masquerade was going to be thrown!
Getting in wasn't very hard. All he'd had to do was spend the night with one of those pretty little scullions in exchange for an invitation. The doorman didn't have any issue with his invitation either, which he was quite thankful for. He'd had a few scullions who were actually smart enough to deserve a higher position play him for a fool every now and then by giving him obviously fake tickets and the such. Of course, he could've always snuck in, but that would've required more effort than necessary, not to mention he'd lose his precious dancing time.
His black cape billowed out behind him before curling obediently around his shins as he looked around the crowd of masked people. He was wearing an outfit that was almost entirely black save for his favorite, white shirt that was tucked into his dark pants. He wore a vest and a loose fitting jacket to allow him to move around more freely. His black mask had gold accents compromised of golden swirls and simple amber-colored jewels. He passed his cape off to the servant who'd been waiting patiently by his side before heading off and finding himself a dance partner.
However, he quickly tired of his partner. He found her to be horribly plain. Her dancing was acceptable and her skin was a nice tone. She was pretty enough and her dress suggested that she'd tried quite hard to look good for this get together, but Puss knew there were some more... satisfying morsels who were also attending, so he kissed her hand and slipped away.
He had hardly been out of the arms of one woman before he'd nearly knocked another over. He quickly reached out to steady the beauty dressed as an angel. "I'm sorry!" he said quickly, adding in an apologetic smile. "Truly my mistake. Are you alright?"

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: f9f9f9; border: #d96a70 solid 10px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;]you gotta fight for your right The women here had such amazing assets! And no, not their butts or anything like that... okay, well maybe a little bit, but at the moment Robin's mind was more focused on work. Like archery, thievery required a keen eye. Beyond the masks he could read who was truly having a good time. Those targets were the easiest because they were too into the moment and hopefully intoxicated to notice a bump from a random stranger.
It was the mopey ones you had to worry about. Instead of joining in on the festivities, they just watched everyone else and especially the clock. Any deviations from the norm stuck out like a sore thumb if you really paid attention, so blending in was doubly important for Robin. On the bright side, this meant he could work and play at the same time. Man, being a thief was an awesome job.
Animals had natural mating rituals which, as a male partygoer, Robin would be expected to partake in. Off at one end of the room there was a swarm of drones surrounding a group of young queen bees. At least he hoped they were queens, or just really really important and filthy rich. Just as he was about to go sign the dance cards and vie for their affection, he sensed something nearby didn't quite belong.
Squinting through the holes of his mask, he scanned the room once more. It was a moper! He looked her over from up to down, tilting his head to the left and right as dancers got in his way. No mask, but a pretty impressive makeup job. She was a relatively young looking girl, but her eyes didn’t reflect the blissful ignorance typical of the age. With the entire outfit it was a sure bet she would be bombarded with advances from young men. Yet, she seemed closed off and obviously did not want to be here.
As he was about to finish up his examination and dismiss the girl as a non-threat, he noticed a particularly stylish pair of boots standing next to her. Hell, Robin would be tempted to swipe them right off his feet had he not known any better. If it was who Robin thought it was, he'd be facing off against an opponent with even more lives than himself. But what would he be doing here?
Robin began switching off between dance partners to gradually make his way closer to the pair. Along the way he pocketed a bracelet or two, or three, or four until he started losing count after a while. Just when he got into eavesdropping distance, the metal within one of the inner pockets of his cloak clattered gently like the jingling of Santa's sleigh bells. Right now was not a good time or place to reveal that Robin Claus was carrying gifts on him. With one hand on his dance partner's waist and the other covering the pocket of his silken cloak, he listened in on them carefully.

And through the rising and falling apart, We discover who we are Everything had been going to plan, that was until a few minutes ago. Lily had been still on her mission of avoiding everyone, now that her sisters had been occupied. Goodness, even Ashlee was dancing, with her husband of course, it wouldn’t be right for a married woman to dance with anybody else. No doubt because people begged to her too, after all she was one of the ‘twelve dancing princesses’. Lily didn’t remember when people had begun calling them that. They weren’t even REAL princesses. They were daughters of a Duke, not that her father position wasn’t that important. They did own one of the largest duchy’s in the first kingdom. Lily just didn’t understand how the story had changed so much in the past few years.
Her family didn’t like the ‘twelve dancing princesses’ title, no they embraced it. At first it was because the ‘twelve dancing princesses’ sounds way much better than ‘the twelve dancing duke’s daughters,’ however as time passed her sisters and even her father saw it as a chance to marry off the remaining un-wed daughters. She understood her father, he had twelve mouths to feed, but her sisters had become frilly things at parties and mostly now danced to catch a husband. This was the reason they started dancing in the underground fairy court in the first place, to be that evil king twelve son’s brides.
Anyway, it was due to the fact that Lily was overthinking about this, while trying to avoid people, so she could make her way to the card room, where her father was. So she could beg him to bring the carriage to send her home. Perhaps if she had been paying more attention, she wouldn’t have been nearly knocked over by some man dressed in black. Why oh why did these things happen to her. Lily wasn’t that comfortable around men, especially in dancing situations. Her recurring nightmares of dancing in the underground Fairy Court, stood as a testament to this. Lily needed to figure a way to get away from this man and fast. She didn’t know what she would do if this man would do to her if he tried to talk to her, let alone ask her to dance. She didn’t another party to end in disaster like the Countess’ party she attended two summers ago.
In fact, once the man finished steading her and asked her if she was alright. Lily took a step back before replying. “I’m fine Sir. Thank you for asking. However I must be on my way.” She continued to step away while trying to catch the eyes of one of her sisters. Ashlee was too busy being starry eyed while dancing with her husband, while the others were being surrounded by men again. And they promised to look out for me, she thought as she continued to look through the crowd, hoping to find a savior. WORDS: 488 TAGS: Robin and Puss NOTES: This is gonna be good

LOS LATINOS SE ROBAN EL SHOW What was this? Was she shy? Was she upset? Was she taken? Or was she simply miserable? Puss In Boots quickly ran through reasons why she was in such a rush to leave. It was a party. Parties were meant to be enjoyable to all to attended and this girl didn't appear to be very happy being there in the least. She'd at least put some consideration in her outfit... or perhaps someone else had done it. She was young and pretty and should be flinging herself over all of the men her age. What an interesting little puzzle.
"So soon?" he asked with a cat-like tilt of his head and a bit of a gentle purr in his voice. "Such a pity. I'd hoped to be able to fix my horrible blunder through more than a simple apology. Perhaps I could get you a drink or something of the likes, ángel?" He knew better than to ask a woman who wanted to be alone to dance. That tended to make them shy away even more... So the only other plausible route seemed to be to get her a drink. He just didn't know if she had a set of morals or something like that, which made this situation relatively tricky. Ah well... too late to take back what he said now.
Puss frowned a bit when he felt eyes on him and he turned slightly to meet the gaze of a somewhat familiar figure. The man was dressed as none other than Robin Hood with the perfect hair color to match. Puss fought the smirk from coming onto his face as he took in a deep breath and confirmed the fact that his good friend had decided to be a comedian for the night. His scent was a match -- the real Robin Hood was dressed as himself. Oh, tonight would be fun regardless of whether or not he got to solve the puzzle of the unwilling angel by his side.

Her outfit screamed that she was royalty and that she was the queen. What she wanted was a night of from being the ruler of the 1st kingdom and she just go out to have fun, to be herself again. It's been quite a long time since she's had any sort of fun with the war that just happened and her duties to the kingdom. When will it ever be enough... she thought to herself as she stared at her appearance in the full length mirror in her room. Black riding breaches with a fine white dress shirt and a pair of riding boots to match it. Her hair was up in a neat ponytail and her face covered with a black mask that she found lying around in her wardrobe. Well...this is as best as it's going to get she thought once more as she grabbed her cloak and sword from the chair near her and quickly made her way down to the stables. It was just a precaution, who knew what would happen at tonight's event. Just as she made her way towards Ghost, her horse, a gentle cough broke through her failure of sneaking out. Cindy jumped and turned around to see her guardsman, Lionel, leaning against the entrance of the stables shaking his head. " Trying to sneak out, Your Highness?" He spoke with tease hidden behind his words. The Queen glared at him as he chuckled at her before mounting her house without even acknowledging him. If he was just going to tease her like that, then she wasn't even going to say a word. Running her hand through Ghost's white mane, she looked back at Lionel, who was now raising an eyebrow at her. The woman just smirked before lightly kicking the side of the white horse, sending her into the night with Lionel calling after her. Cinderella knew that she needed to make sure she got to the party quickly or her guards would surely find her. Like a ghost in the night, she sped towards the party without looking back. As the Queen arrived at the party, she found a nearby stable that she could put her horse up for a few hours and paid the boy handsomely. Looking around for her kingdom's guards, Cindy quickly moved towards the entrance of the estate that the party was being held at. The guard asked for the party invite, causing the blonde haired woman to blink a few before pulling out the invite. He looked at the invite before nodding her in and she quickly slipped past the two guards and right into the crowd of people. Cinderella quickly found where the drinks were and quickly made her way towards the table, cautiously looking around for anyone that she may know. I need to relax and stop worrying... she thought to herself as a sigh slipped past her lips and her hand reached out for a glass of wine. Bring the cool glass to her lips, she took a long swig of the liquid before moving around the party trying to find someone to converse with. She might as well mingle without looking suspicious of anything. MIND IF I SNEAK IN HERE ;] |
