Kitten hummed along to the song playing in her ears at the moment. The whole incident at the music store had gotten her a music player and a bazillion apologies after some investigation on the part of the police that came to take care of matters. Thankfully no one had actually seen her in cat form that would have been bad. At least she hoped they hadn't. She shrugged that off anyways and half skipped down the road towards the old run down theater. No one ever really went there willingly unless you wanted to be told every story that went along with the place. None of it phased Kitten though. It was just an interesting place to explore and get lost in. On top of that she hadn't gotten the chance to do that in a while.
She looked off towards her side and smirked when she saw her entrance into the theater exactly the way she liked it. She took a running jump at the ladder and made it gracefully to the run of the ladder that started the whole thing. She climbed up it and then pushed in a wooden plank and disappeared inside the structure. There were so many ways in but she loved when she was playful to go up that way. She looked around and then found her way into the rafters. Old buildings always had such places to play in. She finally made her way down and into the lobby of the building. She wasn't paying attention at all due to the music in her head. She walked over towards the third door on the right and walked inside.

When one lived alone, there wasn't much one could do.
Alexis sighed heavily, her eyes flicking across the room from her spot on the futon, quickly taking in the few books in a pile on the floor. She had read them all half a dozen times before, which was kind of depressing. If only she was back in the tower, where there had been shelves and shelves of fantastical books. Where all her father had to do was flick his fingers and a golem would appear for her to amuse herself with.
No. He wasn't her father. He had made that quite clear - first by telling her, and then by banishing her to Earth. She puffed a quick breath, blowing a bang from her eyes, needing to distract herself from such dark thoughts. Who would have known that living in another world would be so dull, though? Jesus.
A fly buzzed through the air a few feet away. Alexis didn't even bother to stand. She watched it a for a moment, seemingly enthralled by it's progress across the room, before raising a hand and zapping it with a tiny streak of lightning, issued from her index finger. It disintegrated on impact, falling to the floorboards as ash.
Sighing again, she got to her feet, intent on getting her guitar from the room next door where she preferred to play. Instead, she heard a noise. She moved over to the door, taking care to be silent. There was someone in the lobby. A girl she didn't recognise. Well. That was hardly notable in itself. She barely knew anybody around here.
Still, a girl she didn't recognise in the entrance to the theater. Nobody came over here, not ever, not since those building contractors a couple of weeks past. She watched, curious, as the girl came closer, and then ducked back into her room. She hoped the girl hadn't spotted her.
Apparently not; she instead went into the room opposite. A half-smile crossed her features, an eyebrow rising inquisitively. The girl was so sure of herself. It was like a lure. Still quiet, Alexis crossed the hall to watch the newcomer from the safety of the hall, observing her from the doorway so that she could make a quick getaway if things turned sour.

Kitten had come to the theater before. She had lived in Brooklyn for most of her life and made the trip to Long Island Sound regularly. She wasn't ever sure why but the place was fascinating. She hadn't exactly been into the theater in a few months though. She'd been doing other things. The theater was almost like a comfort zone for the teen. Her mind was racing with the million things and more that had happened to her in the last couple of days. She needed the safety that the theater brought to her. On top of that the cat inside of her wanted to play in the rafter and get itself into trouble. It was purring at her and pleading with her to let it out. She could try to ignore it but then what was the point in doing so. The kitten inside of her was not going to be quiet any time soon. She was freaked out though so it coming through was going to take time.
A moment later the hairs on the back of Kitten's neck started to raise. She flipped around and looked behind her so quickly and gracefully that a normal person would have not seen it. It would have just been a blur of movement. She on the other hand didn't think it was all that graceful as she spun around so fast she almost lost her balance. She didn't but still it felt like she was going too. The kitten inside of her picked up its head interested in why she had just turned to quickly. Kitten started to blend in with the area for a moment before she shook herself out of it. It took a second for Kitten to get her bearings straight and see the girl that was standing in the doorway.
"Well Hello..." She stated casually trying to keep the kitten inside of her at bay. The hairs on the back of her neck were still up and the rest of her body was still tingling. She was not used to running into people like this. First time in Long Island Sound she had met a boy that and now there was this person. Kitten took a deep breath maybe something was starting to happen. In any case she was not used to running into people that actually watched her here. On top of that she hated being watched and rather liked to do the watching. She looked at the girl for a very long time. There was something about her that she couldn't place not just yet anyways.

Well, she was quick. That much could be said. The moment the girl turned around, Alexis' stance stiffened, as though she were expecting an attack. She had been taught to always be prepared for someone to punch you in the face - with magic or a fist. Her skin prickled, ready to go - whether 'go' meant running or fighting, she wasn't sure.
She had never been a cautious person before coming here. The hustle and bustle of this world had made it so. Nothing stopped, there was no time for anyone apart from oneself. She had melded into everyday life. The world didn't care about her here. She had never known anything quite so lacking in compassion. She hovered by the door, taking a step back, barely blinking as she focused on the newcomer.
It almost felt as if she should know her already. Like she'd seen her in a dream or something, met her before in passing. A face she should recognise. It didn't come to her, but it continued to push at the back of her brain encouragingly, asking to be listened to. Her subconscious was aware of it but she - the real Alexis - had no idea.
"Uh...hey?" she tried in response to the girl's greeting. She studied her more intently. She seemed younger by a few years at least - she still had that endearing vulnerability that fades when one becomes an adult. Alexis had no idea how to interact with people her own age. Back in the tower, it had only been she and Magnus and nobody else. Occasionally, he had visitors - other witches and wizards - but she was never allowed to talk to them. They were all old anyway.

Kitten was not a person to attack anyone not unless she absolutely had too. She just hated to be the one being watched. She had always been like that even when she was baby. Her mother had to have her around her at all times or the baby would whimper. She was never fond of crying just whimpering seemd to have been able to get her what she wanted when she was a baby. And then when she was a little older tears only came when she was truly freaked out about something. She had to be so scared that it called the tears to her eyes. Otherwise there was no reason for the young teen to even think about doing anything but whimpering. It might be the cat inside of her too but that didn't matter.
She looked at the other girl trying to figure out if there was any reason for her to freak out and get the hell out of there before the kitten inside of her decided to come out and escape through some unseen place. She took a deep breath trying to keep herself completely calm and collected which in some sense wasn't exactly easy. There was something about this girl that made her feel like she either had seen her before or knew her from somewhere else. Kitten had never seen this girl before in her life and she was wondering why she was having those feelings. It made no sense to the fourteen year old. The kitten inside of her began to purr happily again and it caused her to tilt her head for a second in the way a cat does when its studying something. She righted again and shook her head out. It was then that she caught the others words.
"umm. Sorry if i'm bothering you. I like to come here to think." In a sense it was more of she needed the adventure that this place could hold for her. However, she had not expected to have someone else here with her. It was what she got for not having explored every inch of the building in the first few times that she had been to the place. "Umm I can leave if you'd like me too." So much taking in the last few days something really had to be going on. Suddenly the kitten inside of her metaphorically pawed her in the back of the head. She shook her head suddenly and then became calmer as she studied the other. There was something about the others presence that made her feel comfortable and like she shouldn't be worried. Like she had been when she met the boy in the music shop. However, she wasn't sure at all who this person was. As she was thinking she began to blend into the area around her and she didn't stop herself as she was focused on the other teen.
