'Come on Marco, I think we're both getting a little tired of this game here.'
Marco closed his eyes for a moment, doing his best to ignore the nagging voice. Only one worse than Jazz was Francois. And he'd be coming soon. He always did after Jazz. The half legend shook his head, like trying to shake off the madness that at least a small piece of him was aware of. Marco opened his eyes again hastily as Jazz spoke up again. The voices are always louder in the dark. Always. 'I thought we were over this bit of childishness Marco. Now stop with the silent treatment.' The half blooded son of the Mad Hatter tried to keep his thoughts on the sub-level that was safe from the voices. He couldn't respond. He wouldn't respond. The German bit his lip as he looked over at the people. Normal people who couldn't hear the voices. Marco smiled wryly, ignoring the almost frightened look he got from a father pulling his twin girls away. Blonde and black hair, dual colored eyes that positively sparkled with insanity didn't paint a pretty example for the kiddies. He didn't particularly mind in his saner moments, how much he could mess up a kid's head wasn't something he wanted to think about. Any other time.. he wasn't exactly capable of thinking about it. The Half Legend let his eyes flick around, searching for anything to distract him from Jazz's presence. Everyone seemed to be leaving, packing up whatever they had scattered and taking off on foot, bikes or in cars. Marco closed his eyes again and let the soothing sound of multiple engines wash over him. One had the rustic cough of a hard worked, old truck, another the cat like purr of a Mercedes. He knew cars even if he was smart enough to not even touch one. That small piece of his brain was able to over ride the rest in areas like that. 'Enough of this already Marco. Your being childish. Now talk to me already. You know your going to loose in the end.' The madman opened his eyes a few moments to late, resisting the urge to close them again just to try and force away the words that were now ringing through his conscious. This was why he hated the voices. You can't ignore them. You can't fight them. And no one else can hear them. The voices only spoke to him. They always had. 'I believe Francois has already covered this part love. 'Why would we need anyone else?' You do just fine.' Marco was barely aware of the near silent whimper. This was how it always started, when he began to loose himself to the voices. Why did everyone have to leave? The voices didn't like people, the voices were quieter when there were people. It’s hard to say that I’d rather stay awake when I’m awake Because my dreams are bursting at the seams Kai had seen a ghost green ribbon thread floating from…somewhere, he didn’t know where from, and had wanted to investigate it for a while but hadn’t been able to until now. Once again, the mute boy was alone. His darling sister, Coraline, was nowhere to be seen, so Kai had set out on his own. He wore a leather jacket over his t-shirt and jumper with dark blue jeans and converses. He followed the ribbon thread, taking two buses and walking near to where the thread ended. He wondered who this person was and what powers this person had, and whether they were a boy or a girl. Kai didn’t mind if they were a girl, at all; it’d just be nice to have another boy in Shuujuku.
He stopped to purchase and eat a hot dog. He noticed a father with twin having a hushed heated discussion and frowned when he heard the words, ‘that boy’. Throwing the remains of his hot dog into a trash can, the disabled Half-Legend son of the Fairy Godmother tread slowly to where the ribbon thread was showing him where to go. Kai saw a boy with blonde and black hair, standing alone. Kai saw people moving away from the boy, as if he had the plague; this made Kai’s frown deepen slightly. He moved to a bench, pretending to people-look. The disabled youth reached out with his mind, tentatively. A multitude of voices initially overwhelmed the blonde. How was this possible, to have this many voices inside one’s own mind? His head began to throb slightly. He must break through; to reach out to the boy.
Shut up, all of you! Hello, boy.
He didn’t know if this would work; but he hoped it would. He wanted another Shuujuku member. He only had Coraline and maybe Kitten. People like them needed to stick together. They were different, outcasts; kind of like mutants in a way. He hoped the boy wouldn’t freak out and run off; that would totally suck. Kai wasn’t up for a chase, today. He waited to see and hear the boy’s reaction, all the while people-watching. Tag: Marco King Words: 357

Marco bit his pale lip and started to pace, his eyes darting around like a cornered animal. Jazz's quiet laugh made him almost pierce the skin. 'You see Marco dearest, this is how it always happens. Like you said. You ignore us, you fight us. Then you start to break. Ooh, Francois!' The half legend froze mid-stride, closing his eyes tightly despite the vague knowledge that it only made the voices worse. It wasn't reality, the world that he had to block out. No, this was an assault from his own head. Marco took up pacing again as Francois's presence lifted through the heavy fog in his mind. He hated this. Why couldn't Lita have stayed? She was better than any of them against Francois. He stared Gustav, but Lita just hated him. The madman shook his head sharply, not even pausing in his pacing this time.
'You know mate, sometimes I really worry about you. After all thats happened between us, you still--' Marco visibly jumped at the loud yipe Francois gave, practically cringing back into the fog. And then the new voice came again. The half legend son of the mad hatter froze in place, a new voice? Maybe one like Kitten? But one that scared the voices away. Not even Lita could really scare them away like this. Marco bit his lip more delicately this time, silently debating in that sub-level of his mind before hesitantly replying. Even his mental voice was soft, low pitched and quiet. Like someone who'd been yelled at for being loud to many times in their childhood. 'Hello? Who are you? How did you scare Francois away? The confused tone he used was layered with insanity that was already heavy enough in his mind to give someone a headache.
The madman's heterochromic eyes wandered, following the slight instinct that had once before given him a headache for days. And had led him to someone like him. Well, almost like him. No one was really like him. No one else heard the voices after all. And then the blue and green eyes settled on the teenager. Marco blinked once while a small part of his mind supplied the fact that he was probably about his age while weighing a good ten extra pounds in muscle. Most people did when compared to Marco's own slight build. The half legend cocked his head slightly, curiousity in his glittering eyes. The movement was akin to a curious dog, but the tangled mind definitely wasn't.

It’s hard to say that I’d rather stay awake when I’m awake Because my dreams are bursting at the seams Kai was a little surprised when the boy found him; how had he found the blonde so quickly? Ah well, it didn’t matter that much; it saved him a lot of awkwardness. The mute Half-Legend kept people-watching while looking at the other Half-Legend. Kai didn’t know what he was, what with his memory being erased but he felt like they were meant to find each other and become friends. Kai wondered if this boy would be interested in joining Shuujuku; it was worth a shot.
Apologies, I didn’t mean to scare you and….your companions. I’m Kai Starshine; I’m like you, different though I don’t what we’re called. Maybe you do?
Kai got up from the bench and walked over to where the boy was, giving him a friendly smile. Who was Francois? Maybe it was the voices inside the boy’s head though there seemed to be too many for just one voice. Kai glanced around; there weren’t many people about now. The mute boy was thinking he could recruit this kid into Shuujuku. He was like him and Coraline, which meant that he would be hunted too. He glanced around, to make sure there wasn’t any of them around. He figured he may not have much time; they had managed to track Coraline down before he had found this kid.
Look, we don’t have much time. I have created a group called Shuujuku; it is for people like us. We are being hunted, for what I don’t know but we need to stick together. What do you say? Tag: Marco KingWords: 258

Marco blinked once, a slow docile movement while watching the teenager. He liked the look of them, nothing like the people he could always feel staring at him. Maybe he'd understand the voices? The half legend blinked again, confusion sparking in his heterochromic eyes. 'Companions? Called? I don't understand.' Distress and confusion seeped into his mental voice while his eyes searched around again. Like he'd lost track of what made everything make sense. What was he talking about? No one was here. And names, where did names come in? Marco visibly relaxed as Kai came closer, the friendly smile melting away some of the automatic fear in his eyes. He hated the confusion, hated the blur that made words so hard to understand. But the voices were gone, the haze should be fading. Why wasn't it fading? Marco bit his lip, letting the teenager distract him. Distractions were good.
Marco cocked his head again, listening carefully to the voice in his head. He could beat the haze, he had before. 'Hunted? I don't understand, wha- Marco's breath visibly hitched and his head tilted back. Rain. He could feel it, already establishing a good pace. Why hadn't he smelled it before? The Half Legend son of the Mad Hatter closed his eyes slowly, letting the water drop onto his skin, seeping into his hair and cloth. No wonder he couldn't even hear them muttering. He was safe now, safe from the voices, safe from the haze. Marco turned, offering Kai a brilliant smile as if sharing his joy. 'Its okay. The haze is gone now. What did you mean by hunted?' It was as if the rain had changed his voice, the constant edge of fear and confusion gone. Replaced by a blinding kind of joy and confidence. He could handle in the rain.
Marco shook out his hair, glancing around at the world. Everything was different away from the madness. Colors dimmed down, no longer vibrant enough to nearly blind someone. Speeches clearer now that there was no longer empty gaps in the meaning. The Half Legend walked towards him, feeling the sheer blue scarf soaking through and the chains jangling with his movement. His leather jeans resisted the water, rain simply running down it in streaks instead of absorbing it. "My name is Marco King, I'd say its a pleasure to meet you. But I'm not sure about that fact yet." The wry smile that followed the remark made it clear that however clear his mind became in the rain. He was still a madman, this way he just knew it.

It’s hard to say that I’d rather stay awake when I’m awake Because my dreams are bursting at the seams Kai listened to the kid’s mental voice. He looked on edge and fearful, which made Kai be more sympathetic. He wondered what this kid was doing out here by himself. Was he lost? Did his parents kick him out? Was he an escaped convict? He didn’t seem like it, then again a kid who looked like this didn’t seem like a convict; just a scared kid. Kai silently sighed. A different approach was needed, he realised. The kid maybe needed someone to talk to him as if he were a kid.
The rain then started, which somehow caused the boy to be more focussed. Kai heard the boy say his name, which caused Kai to smile and chuckle a little. Marco….Marco; it was a good name to have. Kai seized his chance to tell Marco everything. Marco was in as much trouble as he, Coraline, Kitten, Ryan and Valoria were. The Order would stop at nothing to get them and do unspeakable things to them; they were dangerous. Why did his mentor have to have such evil colleagues? Why did he have to rat them out?
“Hey Marco. Listen, we don’t have much time here. I think you’re being hunted, by some very bad people, who will do bad things to you if they catch you. I am too, and..and so are my sister and friends. Do you understand what I’m saying?”
Kai let the information sink in before carrying on.
“I have a group that can protect you; that can keep you safe. We have powers that can help you. Do you believe me; please say you believe me.”
Kai stopped telepathically talking and allowed Marco some time to take this all in properly. Kai knew it could be very overwhelming to have big chunks of information thrown at you in one go. Tag: Marco KingWords: 304Notes: Sorry for taking so long and if it’s a little rubbish

Marco's dual colored eyes watched Kai with bright, slightly cautious eyes. He couldn't even hear muttering from the voices in the background, it made him open to the mood of his new friend. Something was wrong. And his head cocked, listening as the voice spoke in his mind again. Even in his current state his mind skipped right over the unusual fact that he didn't speak out loud. It was testimony to the fact that he wasn't entirely sane that he didn't question anything, just listened and took it in. Shock from news didn't effect him, it was fear that usually made things take a while to sink in.
The rain continued to pour, soaking his hair and leaving the silk scarf clinging to his neck. But the sound and feel of the falling water was like music to him, it got rid of the haze, dulled the colors that were always to bright. And it made the voices quiet. None of them ever spoke in the rain. Not ever. When he finally answered after a long pause, he only had one thing to say. "Why?" There was no inflection in the voice, flat and cool. He wanted to know and he expected answers. And then he started talking again.
"There are a few things we need to get over with now. You've heard the voices, you even scared them away. You just have to understand that their always there, only the rain really makes them go away. I'll introduce you later, when they come back. But for now I can tell you by name. Francois is the worst. Jazz, almost as bad sometimes. Viva is okay. Gustav is the only one who never turns on me."
It was the first time he'd ever talked about the voices with any clarity, usually nothing more than vague muttering in the throes of panic or confusion.
