Daniel was becoming bored with his usual plan of following these other powers that he sensed, so he was going to shake things up a bit. Instead of following, he was going confront one of them to see what his or her business was in the area, and then Daniel could figure out how it concerned him. His parents had told him to be himself, which meant using his powers. Now all he had to do was use them in a constructive manner, which inadvertently meant he was going to have to find more people in situations similar to him. "Now if only that didn't mean I actually have to meet them then this would be easy."
At the moment, he was sitting at a table outside of a cafe, sipping a cup of coffee and trying to figure out how he was going to meet one of these people without showing his hand. Obviously, Daniel knew he couldn't use his powers to cause a situation that would make a person of interest show himself, but that was mainly because it was morally wrong. There was also a chance that the person wouldn't be able to handle the situation, so maybe he would need a more subtle approach. "Maybe I could just cast a spell on one of them that would subconsciously force them to come to me."
Then again, it might just be easier to see if any of them could actually sense him, which would allow for them to show their hand instead of him showing his. Yes, Daniel liked this idea very much as it would allow him to keep a few aces up his sleeve, but he was growing tired of waiting for one of them to show. "I should have brought an instrument to play while I waited." Daniel was currently working on learning how to play the piccolo, which was a wonderful instrument to play when one felt bored. Then again, this might be more of a moment for the sounds of a string instrument, but it didn't matter because Daniel didn't fill like going back home to get one.

'Look Marco dearest, you don't find the source of this restlessness soon I swear I'm gonna kick you right out of your control and find it myself. I need my beauty sleep baby, and this whole pacing the room in the middle of the night thing has got to stop.'
[/i] Marco blinked at Gustav's thickly accented French voice that managed to sound like a heavy purr even exasperated as it was. 'I know Gustav, its driving me up the walls to. But what am I supposed to do?' The madman rose from his place on the park bench, ignoring the instant stares that had only just gone away. One of the disadvantages to looking as crazy as you are; people stare. The half-legend bit his lip lightly, picking up a steady pace. Just following wherever his mind seemed to be tugging him. 'Play it by ear love. Anything to stop it from driving me crazy as well as you. Marco rolled his eyes and resisted a silent 'and wouldn't that be a tragedy.' Gustav might easily be the more pleasant of them all, but he definitely talked the most. The son of the Mad Hatter glanced around, barely remembering the routine Lita had drilled him in before he stepped into the road. The lessons had gotten him insulted in several different languages, but he was grateful. He'd seen once what happened to people who stepped in front of the cars. He may have spent most his life here, but there were still things to get used to. Marco sighed quietly as he turned up his mostly quiet music. With only Gustav acting up, the Metallica he had playing was only to drown out the white noise that was the constant presence of all the others. Trapped Under Ice worked wonders for the sanity. Marco gave a short chuckle at the thought, ignoring Gustav as the French voice retreated a fold deeper into his conscious, clearly satisfied that whatever power had been disturbing them would be figured out. But he'd be back. Marco's gave was drawn inexplicably to the front of the cafe he'd never set foot in. To much social norms to hold up to there. But it was the boy outside looking impatient and drinking coffee. The madman's head cocked automatically, like the tilt of a curious dog. Looking at the world at a slightly different angle. Then he just stood there, arms loosely crossed, one headphone still in his ear blasting Welcome To The Jungle, standing only ten feet from the table. He had no doubt that this was the source. He certainly looked like he was capable of giving someone a headache from pure will power. One of them was getting close, and Daniel had this feeling that it was going to be a very interesting encounter for him. Of course, he could just be running into this person by complete accident, but beggars couldn't be choosers when they were growing bored with things. It was at this point that he began looking at the people around him to see if he recognized anyone, but each one that he looked at seemed sort of normal to him. No, it definitely wasn't anyone that was actually there to partake of the cafe's good service, and it didn't feel as though the person had arrived quite yet.
"I wonder who it will be to show up and see me. Hopefully, it won't be someone looking for a favor or something," Daniel muttered to himself as he took another sip from his cup. There weren't many places that could provide a good cup of coffee, but this one seemed to be an exception to the rule. Alas, he probably wouldn't return to this place if the person of interest who showed up proved to be annoying, but maybe today was his lucky day with a person of extreme importance showing up.
Then the feeling that he always got when another one of them was around grew stronger, and that was when he noticed the gentleman who was standing not far from his table. His sense seemed to focus in on this indvidual, who was sort of just staring at him. Well, Daniel wasn't going to wait around all day for this guy to make the first move, which meant that he was going to have to take the initiative here by starting up the conversation. His eyes glanced around one more time just to make sure that there wasn't anyone else of interest in the area before he spoke.
"If you are going to sit down, then please do so. Otherwise, stop staring at me." His tone was clear that if said person was going to stare at him all day then Daniel was going to do something that would make him stop. Yet again, the young man was tempted to use his power to just force this other individual to sit down, but Daniel still didn't want to show his hand too soon. After all, one never knew who could be watching.

Marco began tapping his foot silent while he waited, the half inch heeled combat boots surprisingly quiet. The madman's heterochromic eyes flashed lightly as he was finally noticed. His typically moods of either wary tension brought about by insanity or cheerfully tactile, were gone. The last few days had even Jazz a little testy. The response didn't even get a blink out of Marco as he sat down opposite of him. But the flat, clearly irate stare didn't stop even as he turned down the volume of his I-pod. Just loud enough to muffle the whispers and buzzing in his head. 'Start talking amour. Then we can get this over with' Marco blinked once, slowly at Gustav's thick voice. He wasn't the bossy one. That was Lita, but what annoyed Marco typically annoyed him.
And then he finally spoke up, his eyes half-lidded as if reality was getting to annoying for him to deal with. A difference from the usual with him. "All I want is a explaination. I don't remember much so you can start with why your giving me a headache." The flat, mostly emotionless tone did nothing to reveal the insanity that showed slightly in his somewhat clouded eyes. He looked like someone who was living in a reality he wasn't always seeing. 'Right. Thats a start, next tell him that I'll strangle him in his sleep if he wakes us up one more time. Marco almost smiled at Lita's gruff, husky voice that was deepened by the irritation that Gustav only barely showed.
The voices were always like this on the good days. When only a few spoke and the bad ones stayed away. Lita and Gustav.. they weren't bad especially together. Lita could get nasty alone or with Francois, but not with Gustav. Marco let his glazed eyes return to the man that appeared to be the source of his disturbance. A small part of him, the one that was hidden and distorted by the rest, was aware of the insanity that made him hyperaware of what would only be a restlessness for most people. Just a sensation, not something that could steal hours of sleep and cause a consistant, pulsing headache. The half-legend son of the Mad Hatter uncrossed his arms to lay one hand on the surface of the table, watching the man silently. Irritation no longer sparking in his eyes. Answers. He wanted answers. And the smaller part of him.. wanted to remember home.

Daniel watched as the other guy sat down without saying a word, and the young man wondered exactly how powerful this guy was. He did note that whoever it was had a particularly annoying stare, but Daniel didn't say anything about it. For the longest while, nothing was said, and Daniel was beginning to wonder if the guy could actually speak. Almost as if the other guy could read his thoughts, words came out of the lips of the guy with the annoying stare, and they left Daniel wondering about quite a few things that he would probably inquire about through the course of the conversation.
"Honestly, I'm not sure why you are getting a headache, but I assume it has something to do with you. You probably just haven't learned how to turn off the ability to sense other people's powers," Daniel said right before he took another sip. He could probably identify the true source of the other guy's head pains, but Daniel would first have to get some background on who he was talking to. Of course, this would be a problem if the guy was having trouble remembering who he was, so Daniel would leave that subject alone.
At least, the guy was starting to relax, which would make the conversation easier. Now the question was where should Daniel start on his list of questions, and then the answer became obvious to him. "So what exactly do you remember?" Introductions could wait while Daniel assessed whether this guy was worth talking to or whether this was a huge waste of his time. Even if it was, the half legend son of Merlin would humor the other guy as there was no one else of significant power within the area at the moment, but as soon as that changed then Daniel might consider moving on.

Marco's eyes flicked to focus elsewhere, the blue and green dulled by the fact that he wasn't even entirely aware of what he was thinking. His sight was often one of the senses that flicked on and off. Just a fog over his vision, annoying but little more. 'Look. Just tell the chico to start talking and we can finish this up and get a good nights sleep. Bye bye worthless conversation, bye bye headache.' The half legend frowned slightly at Lita's half suggestion half demand. 'For someone who nagged at me over proper interaction with Kitten you aren't being very polite today.' He made good success at ignoring her frustrated growl in favor of paying attention the the man talking again.
The madman blinked once in reaction, the logical part of his brain whirring like gears and cogs to try and place the information. "Powers? Your going to have to explain further. Is it like Kitten's transformation? A touch of energy reached Marco's apathetic speech as he mentioned his friend. The girl who didn't mind the voices. Everyone else didn't like the voices, even if they couldn't hear them. The son of the Mad Hatter tapped his nails silently against his denim clad thighs. More restless now than impatient. Gustav had pulled Lita back, wish meant he was mostly alone in his head. Only the background buzzing and the haze to keep him distracted.
The next question made all of Marco's muscles go taut. He didn't want to remember. He didn't want to remember the fear, the pain. He didn't want to think about the time the voices went bad. Vaguely the Half Legend was aware of the fact that his breathing had escalated and his pupils were dilated with the beginnings of panic. But after a few seconds the madman dug his nails lightly into his palm and forcefully slowed his breathing. "Not much. My mother, a name 'The Hatter', and the voices. They weren't bad then. They didn't want to hurt me like they do now. But the White Queen didn't like them. They made her mad."
The fact that he was trembling slightly and gripping the edge of the table tight enough to turn his knuckles white completely escaped him as the voices retreated further back. As if his near panic frightened them. Marco's heteochromic eyes flicked back up at the man, darkened this time by the shadows of memories. His first night in this world. The world that had turned his friends, his voices against him. Not even Francois was brave enough to come up now. Not when he was two inches from breaking the table with that feather fine tremor running through his body.

It was like talking to a child about how to use the bathroom, which was really annoying to Daniel. Of course, this guy's lack of knowledge meant that he wasn't a threat, so Daniel didn't need to worry about it all that much. Of course, it could all be an act, but it would be one heck of an act to pull off. The question now was how he was supposed to answer the other guy's question about his powers without giving away everything about himself, so for now he wouldn't answer the question but ask a separate question to keep gaining information about what all the guy remembered. For starters, Daniel wanted to know who this Kitten person was that the guy had mentioned.
"Who is this Kitten that you speak of? What do you mean by transformation? Is that like shapeshifting?"[/b] Daniel needed to keep the questions coming to make the other guy forget all about learning about his powers for now. The half-legends son of Merlin was not ready to let someone outside of his family learn that much about him, but maybe in the future he would be ready to start sharing. This reminded him he needed to learn exactly what his new 'friend' could do, which would be difficult if the person he was speaking to didn't know if he had any. Sometimes, learning could be a real pain in the neck.
It seemed that trying to remember the past was truly frightening for Daniel's companion, but Daniel knew that one could not run from fear but face it. Although, it wouldn't do either one of them any good if the other guy had a panic attack, so the young wielder of magic was about to intervene but the other guy seemed to calm himself down. Then the information started coming out, and Daniel began to listen intently. Some of the things made sense to Daniel who had grown up in the other world, but the parts that really stuck out were voices and Hatter. It made him start to wonder if the guy's father was not someone who was truly mad.
"How about we forget about your past for now and focus on something more immediate? What can you tell me about your powers?"[/b] Daniel didn't want to risk a scene in such a public place that would expose the both of them.

'We're leaving Marco. Show this two digit IQ Cro-Magnon that you're as much as a cretin as he seems to believe.' Marco blinked slowly, listening to Gustav's smooth, cool voice. And for once in his life panic tightened his chest as the voice's presence in his mind slipped away. Retreating into the deepest folds. This wasn't right. Wasn't normal. What was happening, why were the voices leaving? The voices never left. Not like this, not without something to fear. The madman blinked slowly back the awareness, Daniel's voice tugging him back to reality. Later. The voices could wait till later. "Kitten is a friend. She's like us. And yes, she can turn into a cat. But I don't think she can really control it. Not always." His hands were still shaking and muscles were rigid in his slender body, but there was a new clarity in his voice. Almost a defiance. And his heterochromic eyes were sharp as they met Daniel's.
The silent, but still there condescension that only Gustav ever really picked up on was something he was used to. People didn't understand the voices, didn't understand fading out until you can't hear, or words not making any sense. People weren't like him, even people like Daniel and Kitten. But Kitten had understood. And so even with panic bridging at his mind, Marco's eyes were narrowed in dislike. He wanted answers. So far he'd gotten only questions. "Now, back to my question. I've noticed that I show a extremely sensitive psyche. Emotions, thoughts. But never long distance and never enough to give me a splitting headache to last a week. Now, were you doing anything to trigger that." The irate but practical voice reflected none of the insanity and panic that had his knuckles still clenched white on the edge of the table. And his other hand was nearly drawing blood with his nails.
Marco closed his eyes, focused on ignoring the thoughts. Blocking them out, forcing them away. These voices didn't make sense. They weren't normal, weren't predictable. He didn't know them. And then Daniel talking again gave him something to focus on. But there was the panic again. "Powers, I don't understand. What are you talking abou-" The panic that flooded his voice and mind made the words run together, and his eyes dilate until the dual colors were nearly consumed by blackness. And the table was shaking. Everything on it vibrating and leaves lifted up around him. His breathing that bordered on hyperventalating quieted at the same time as the earth settled around them again. There was no evident of the brief bout of near destruction in his eyes. Just confusion. "I don't like talking about some things. Sorry."

This Kitten sounded like someone that Daniel needed to meet as he had never known anyone who could turn into cat, and it didn’t even matter if the girl couldn’t control her power. The young wizard didn’t think that every person that was like him had been properly trained as he was in using his powers. He had been so caught up in his thoughts that he almost didn’t notice that Marco was starting to shake as if he was having an attack or something, and Daniel ran through the list of things that he had read and been taught to see if there was something that he could do to ease the guy’s sufferings. Alas, he came up with nothing that would prove useful without knowing what was really wrong. ”I would very much like to meet this Kitten. Don’t suppose you could arrange it, could you?” He would even be satisfied if the guy told him where he could run into the young cat girl.
Not long after, Marco went on the offensive by asking his own question while also explaining what it was he could do. From the sounds of things, Daniel could only conclude that the guy was a short range telepath or empath as was depicted in some comic books that he had briefly skimmed while waiting around for his parents in the mall. ”I’m not sure if I caused your headache, but I was trying to attract someone who could sense my magic. I apologize if by doing that made you feel any pain,” said Daniel. It was clear that the guy’s powers were making him a nervous wreck, but there was little that could be done about that now except for Daniel to try and keep his stray thoughts and emotions to a minimum.
Then things got weird as Marco had an attack that caused a supernatural thing to happen, but just as quickly as it came it disappeared. It seemed like talking about their abilities caused a negative reaction of the other young man and luckily no one seemed to notice it. ”Perhaps it would be best if we continue this conversation in a place that isn’t so public. We wouldn’t want the whole city knowing about you, now would we?” Once they were in a more isolated place, Daniel planned on breaching the topic again just to see what happened, but he would take some magical precautions to keep himself safe.

Some of the ire returned to Marco's dual colored eyes as at the response. A lock of hair covering his green eye only empathized the irritation. "No. Your to cold to meet her." The flat tone had about enough ice to make a winter wonderland. He liked Kitten. He didn't want her getting hurt by someone who had about the same warmth as a frog dissection. And the mug across from the table drifted a few inches as his emotions triggered a change in the gravitational pull again. But he relaxed again as Daniel started talking again. And over him, Gustav spoke. 'Remember what I taught you about people mon cherie? Sometimes they don't really consider anyone above their interests. He wants to know what you can do. And don't break the table. Plus, your shaking.'
Marco blinked, glancing at where his hand was clenched white on the table. And slowly let go of it. "Sense it. Right. I've had Gustav and Lita snarling at me to find you all day because you've been keeping me up. Next time, try and be a little more aware of the hyper-sensitive ones." Naturally, Marco was a friendly, tactile person. But as Lita was silently pointing out in his head, Daniel rubbed him the wrong way. He didn't like questions, had never liked questions. Didn't want to think about it. Didn't want to remember the voices going bad. 'I'm sorry. And for the second time the madman blinked in surprise, focusing inward now instead of at the table he'd been on the edge of breaking. Never. Not once, had one of the voices ever apologized. And for changing on him...
Marco bit his lip, confusion and a slight vulnerability replacing the dark look in his eyes. 'Gustav?' The half legend son of the Mad Hatter cocked his head a cenimeter to the side, like a dog listening for something. 'Someone had to say it. I still remember when we used to be your friends. The others don't.' Marco was vaguely aware of the fact that he was about to start bleeding from where he was biting it. 'I guess I forgive you then, but I need to know more. Later.' His eyes refocused on Daniel just in time to hear him talking again. And confusion touched the soft look in his eyes. "Alright. Come on, I know these neighborhoods." His voice was different than before, soft and almost confused. Like anyone after a special moment they didn't really understand. But his movement was more businesslike as he stood.

Daniel’s face expressed his shock at Marco’s reply to his inquiry about his friend, Kitten. He really couldn’t seem the harm in just meeting the girl, but if this guy didn’t want to facilitate such a meeting then Daniel would just find some other way of meeting the gal who could become a cat. Maybe, a spell would guide him to her, but it would definitely have to be one impressive spell to track down someone with great power. He would have to do further research on it to work out the kinks in such a spell, but for now he needed to focus on the person with great power in front of him. ”Do I come off as cold? I really don’t mean to sound that way. It just seems to come out that way whenever I am talking to someone.”
The whole point of what he was doing was to attract someone who could sense him, but Daniel hadn’t thought of someone being able to sense his power or emotions so easily. He was definitely going to have to learn to keep them both reigned in for future meetings with people like Marco, but for now the young man began to focus on keeping his magic within him. ”Yes, I will be sure to anticipate people with such prominent sensing ability like yourself,” Daniel said as he pondered who Lita and Gustav were. If he had to guess, they weren’t real people as Daniel didn’t think normal people snarled at one another, but then again he wasn’t really someone who was up to date on how most normal people acted.
For several moments, Daniel thought he was staring at a statue as there was nothing being said in response to his statement, and he was tempted to snapping his fingers in front of the other guy’s face just to see how the guy would react. Then the guy said that he knew the neighborhood, which meant that the odd one was in charge of where the conversation went from here. ”So where are we going,” asked Daniel as he rose up from the table. Quickly depositing enough cash to cover what he had ordered, Daniel turned to follow the guy who would lead them to a private location, and he hoped that this wasn’t going to be one of those situations where he got led off to a place where he could be quickly disposed of.
