Can anything harm us, Mother, after the night-lights are lit? Michael was absolutely lost. He had only been flying for a few minutes but there was no sign of Neverland anywhere. He had delighted himself in doing loop de loops and aerial cartwheels but in doing so, had distanced from his home. Michael had come to call Neverland his home ever since he had left England; a decision he hadn’t come to regret. Sure, he missed Mother and Father and Nana but he couldn’t be without Wendy; he loved her too much, and John. As he tried to remember which way Neverland was, he thought about what Wendy would say if she discovered him missing. It would such a stir in her heart! Would she come searching for him? The thirteen-year-old liked to think so.
Sighing, the curly-haired boy continued the way he was going, hoping he’d find some familiar landscapes. Unfortunately, that never happened. He came across a beach then a forest, which didn’t look too friendly and then came upon a village covered in snow and a frozen lake. He came to rest there for a minute. The cold wrapped itself around the little boy, which caused him to shiver and rub his arms in the hopes to warm himself up. His clothes weren’t exactly designed for winter; he wearing an out made out of leaves and various furs and feathers. Seeing nothing worth exploring, Michael flew onwards, seeing a wonderful castle. Michael, having never been to the Second Kingdom, didn’t know of Queen Red and King Bigby, or even about the witches overthrowing of the Third Kingdom.
Landing gracefully, Michael looked left and right and umm’d and err’d. Oh, what was he do, and would the owners of this rather fine-looking home help him? Feeling slightly dejected, Michael knocked on the door and shivered. He’d need to talk to Wendy about the clothes when he got back to Neverland.

Ordinarily, a servant would answer the door when someone knocked, but this was something of an unusual case, because the door upon which someone had knocked, was the door to the balcony of the king and queen's bedchamber. Towering high above the ground and with no other access point, it wasn't exactly a door they usually received company by. So when Red glanced up from mending one of Gretel's cloaks upon hearing a knocking at the door, she hardly expected to hear the voice of a child coming from the balcony to follow it.
She dropped the torn cloak in her chair and rose to see whether or not she was going mad. Red almost stopped halfway to the door, convincing herself that she was just imagining things, but then her instincts told her that she ought to check anyway. Always better to be safe when you thought you heard noises, she figured, and if there was no one there, then the fresh air from the winter's night might do her some good anyway.
She pulled open the door, and was quite startled to see a young, shivering boy there, dressed in an odd outfit of leaves and furs, and she blinked. "What in the nine kingdoms?" She asked under her breath, before her maternal instincts took over, despite the strange circumstances, and she stepped aside to usher the boy inside. "Come in, quickly, before you catch your death!" She insisted, gesturing for him to come inside where it was warm.

Can anything harm us, Mother, after the night-lights are lit? Michael was about to knock on the door again, when a beautiful lady dressed in fine clothing appeared. She stepped aside and Michael scampered in. The room was some kind of bedroom; and boy, was it lush! He circled on the spot, surveying the bedroom before his eyes landed on the lady in the fine clothing. The poor boy looked so lost and cold. He rubbed his arms in an attempt to warm himself up. He would need to speak to Wendy about winter clothing when he saw her next, if he did see her again.
“I say, thank you ever so much, Miss. Where am I? I seemed to have flown too far away from Neverland. My sister will be ever so worried about me.” said Michael, who once again took to surveying a room. The woman was beautiful; he didn’t recognise her, though. Neverland was quite the isolated island, so Michael had no idea about the witches or the impending war. The curly-haired youth, seeing no seat available, sat on the floor, Indian style. This revealed his feet, which were atrociously dirty. Living in a jungle with five other boys made for poor etiquette, though Wendy always made sure he knew his manners. He missed his dear sister and wished he could see her again.
Michael then realised that he didn’t know where he was, or this lady was. Father and Mother would be appalled by his foolishness; they had warned him not to go inside strange people’s places. Nana had also been very diligent in her caring of her young charges – she would growl at anyone she didn’t like. Michael mentally chastised himself for not thinking properly. The curly-haired boy realised he hadn't introduced himself to the beautiful lady; that was bad form, uncouth of him.
