In truth, Daniel was hoping that it would be a successful day as he was standing in a bookstore in search of a specific book, and this had been the forth place that Daniel had searched for the book. Of course, he wasn't going to stop looking for it as it was his adoptive father's birthday coming up, and this book was one that Daniel had overheard him talking about for the last year. It was almost to the point that he was going to just use his powers to summon the thing to him, but Daniel knew that his father wouldn't want a stolen gift.
"That doesn't mean I can't use my powers to search through the store rather quickly."
A simple locator spell with an added twist was what he used to find the book, and the twist was that a light that only those who could sense magic was guiding him to it. As he followed the light, Daniel did his best to act casual while also not losing sight of it, which wasn't easy with all of the people in the building. One wouldn't think that a lot of people would be interested in real books when they could just download a copy off of the internet.
"I found you."
The light had stopped on the spine of a book, and Daniel pulled it off of the shelf. It was just a simple book by the name of "Watership Down", and while he had never read it before his father had said it was one of his favorite books from when he was younger. Daniel stood there for a moment as he looked through the pages to get a gist of what the story was about, and it did have a decent plot to it.
"I guess I should look around to see if there is anything else I might want to purchase."

Cora had been asked by her brother to help him in their recruitment spree. Kai thought that Cora was the best suited to approach the blonde young man, known as Daniel Cassidy. Kai had analysed Daniel and considered him worthy to join their little brotherhood. So for a few days, Cora kept following the hot and cute guy. She really was fancying those blue eyes and blond hair. So this time she decided to finally meet him and she followed him to a Book store. How cliche was that, she thought to herself, but it seemed that the Fates were on her side, as she was able to see his little display of power. Due to the fact that she was able to see magic in work, even when it was invisible to normal beings, Cora also followed the light and watched as Daniel grabbed a book.
Facing the dilemma if she should go to him personally or use her telepathy, Cora decided to meet the guy personally...she took a deep breath and move towards the blond young man, as he searched another bookshelf.
"I would be more careful with those little lights of yours. You never know what they attract to you..." Cora said with a soft and low tone of voice. Though she was utterly blunt. As the blonde looked at her, she gave him a bright and honest smile. He was handsome, Cora though to herself as she got herself lost in his face.

Daniel turned toward the person who had given him advice, and he could sense the power within her. Of course, the fact that she had spotted his spell helped to reveal that she was of the supernatural world, but it was still interesting to find another. After talking to the mad guy the other day, Daniel had become interested in meeting more people who were like him, but he hadn't expected to find such a lovely person to talk to.
"Oh, I don't think I have anything to worry about if all they bring to me is a pretty girl." Then again, his spells could also attract some unsavory characters, but Daniel was a little to cocky to worry about them being too much of a problem. Regardless of this, his mind needed to stay focus on the girl in front of him who obviously had a reason for confrotnting him, and the question only question was what was it.
now, all that Daniel had to do was how to proceed from here, and he decided to go with being direct with a flirting edge. "Speaking of pretty girls, what brings you here? Looking for some Shakespeare or maybe you want to read up on your Arthurian legends?" His own search for books was forgotten, so it was pretty lucky that he had already found the one book that he actually needed to get.

What Cora wasn't expecting was the compliment and cocky smile that the blonde guy gave her. Soft red blush could be seen in her cheeks, but as it appeared it had disappeared. Cora titled her head as a move to try to distract Daniel from her soft blush.
It was being hard for her to keep focused on her mission at hand, while looking at the handsome blonde, but Cora pushed her other thoughts to the back of her mind and returned her attention to the task at hand. When she was trying to speak a reply to his words, Daniel asked her a question.
Her face became a bit serious as she was deciding to play along this game that the blonde man wanted to play or go straight to business. She smiled as she made her mind. "I'm looking for "The Odyssey" actually. I've always liked the fact that Gods and other beings could produce mortal children...with strange powers." Cora stated and sent a hint to the blonde guy in front of her. He was taller then her but she was able to look at his eyes without much difficulty as she was a tad tall for a girl.
"How about you? What is so difficult for you to find, that you need a little help?" She asked with a slightly teasing tone on her voice.

Even though she tried to hide it, Daniel could see that his words were working there magic, and why shouldn't they? Magic was his specialty after all, but it did help to have such a pretty girl to work it on. Of course, he needed to focus on the conversation and not her looks, but it was going to be difficult.
"Oh, the "Odyssey" is a really good read, but I think I would have to choose the "Illiad" since it has Achilles in it." Of course, it would have been very interesting to have seen the actual thing, but that was long before his time.
Regardless of book choice, it seemed that she got his subtle hint about who they really were, but there wasn't really a need to play the whole 'cloak and daggers' routine out. After all, he didn't sense anything sinister behind her eyes. "I was just looking for a particular book to give my father as a birthday present, and this one holds some special memories for him." That was all that he was going to say on that particular subject. It wasn't like she needed to see him get sentimental about his family, and Daniel didn't want anyone to see him that way.
"So you came to such a remote spot for a copy of the "Odyssey", or are you looking for a more special edition?"

Oh my...those eyes were truly mesmerizing and Cora was easily getting lost in them, like she couldn't break Daniel gaze. But thankfully Daniel spoke and that helped her stop staring deeply into his eyes. Kai had once warned that Cora habit of staring right at other people eyes could some they lead her into troubles. But Daniel eyes were really remarkable.
"Achiles was an insane demi-god. He is one of my least favorite characters, I must admit. I prefer Cassandra though." Cora said with a polite smile. Truth be told Homer himself described Achiles as an bloodthirsty man, nothing more then a dangerous madman and Cora agreed. Daniel also seemed to be quite bright as they spoke a bit more and then told her the reason why he used his magic. When questioned about what she was doing there, Cora simply smiled and told the truth.
"I am looking for a unique edition of it...But I was also looking for you." Cora bluntly, but again politely stated the truth."I'm Coraline Starshine, pleasure meeting your acquaintance Mr Cassidy. Please don't be afraid. I mean you no harm...I just need to talk with you."

Like most every person, the young woman was entitled to her opinion, but Daniel always thought that Achilles was only portrayed in such a way to make him seem less perfect. After all, who wanted to read a tale about a perfect hero? The answer was ‘no one.’ If only Daniel could have seen what had really happened, then he would know if Homer had been completely accurate about what had happened.
Then the young woman answered his last question, and the fact that she was looking for him made Daniel wonder exactly why. It wasn’t like he was well known in the area outside of a few individuals that he had met, which meant that someone had been talking to someone about him. ”You have brought my interest to a whole new level, Ms. Starshine. What could you ever be looking for someone like me for?”
An afterthought on his part was that he really disliked being called ‘Mr. Cassidy’. It seemed like something that was reserved for his adoptive father, and Daniel wasn’t really a Cassidy at his core. ”Also, you can just call me Daniel. Mr. Cassidy is my father until he passes on from this world.”
