Kitten had woken up with a start for the fourth day in a row. She looked down at herself and then walked into her bathroom jumping up on the counter top. It was a Saturday morning and her mother was next door talking to the old woman that lived there. Kitten on the other hand sat on her bathroom counter looking at the cat that was staring back at her. She still hadn't gotten used to this and it seemed to happen when she was freaked out now days. Or when she had that strange dream of things she did not understand. She jumped off the counter and was suddenly her human self again. She sighed and went about brushing her hair until her head became a little clouded and she had to go lay back down. She took a deep breath and then powered through getting dressed.
She left a note for her mother tell her she was heading off to Long Island Sound. She'd be back sooner or later. The trip would take a little bit as she was coming from Brooklyn but that never seemed to phase Kitten at all. She walked out of her house keys in her jacket pocket. A few hours later she was getting off the bus in her favorite part of Long Island Sound. She was hearing thoughts around her which caused her to go wide eyed for a second and then she was leaning against a wall in an alley way her head down so that she could get the voices to shut up.
It seemed to pass about ten minutes later and she just so happened to have morphed into a cat again. A rather strange looking cat but a cat nonetheless. Her fur could almost be seen as transparent but that morph didn't last too long as she came out of it and looked around hoping no one had seen that.

Kai had been finding out what he could do with his new-found powers. So far, he had been to talk to animals telepathically – that had been a real shocker, make things explode when angry and sense where others like him are. If someone asked how he sensed them, his explanation would be this: they have similar “magical ribbon threads” but with individual colours. Currently, in one of those rare moments when the two weren’t together, the young mute boy was walking around the area, clad in a yellow t-shirt and a leather jacket with jeans. As usual, Kai had his leather brown satchel filled with cards. The bag had helped him so much since he had got it.
He was walking when a prickly sensation came over him and then he saw a sort of violet blue-coloured ribbon thread unravelled itself from a nearby alleyway and then fluttered in the wind. He hadn’t met or heard of anyone else like him and Coraline before. He knew other people couldn’t see the magical coloured-ribbon thread. He had that out before – only he could see them – not even Coraline see them. He looked to the thread again – this may be his only chance to meet someone else like him, besides Coraline. Kai dashed to where the violet blue colour-ribbon thread was coming from. He managed hide behind the wall and see a glimpse of a rather odd-looking cat before it morphed back into a human. He had found someone else like him. He had to act fast – he didn’t want to scare her off. He ventured into her mind, granted he had only done this with Coraline and his adoptive family, but he had to try and contact her.
Her mind was a jumble of different thoughts; thoughts that weren’t hers. He knew what he had to do. Kai reached out to her telepathically. Shut out the other voices – just focus on mine. Don’t worry, I’m a friend. The mute boy hoped she didn’t freak out by this. People weren’t accustomed to hearing other people’s voices, he knew. Heck, he had been freaked out when he’d heard a pigeon badmouth a child for chasing it. He waited to see what the blonde girl would do.

The hairs on the back of Kitten's neck started to raise just a little bit. Something was around or someone she wans't sure which. She tried to calm herself down but the flood of voices weren't helping her do that at the moment. She closed her eyes and morphed back into a cat again. The voices muffled themselves a little bit and she curled up in a ball and let out a small sad meow. She was freaking out and it seemed that being a cat kept her slightly calmed and collected at least after the first intial shock of morphing. She couldn't do it on her own free will it only happened when she was being overwhelmed and freaked out. She had been glad that she hadn't done that when school was in session. She had no clue if she's be able to keep it like that now though. She would be damned if anyone at school saw her doing that. She would have to find a way for it to stop. Though she tended to keep herself out of trouble at school. She was a loner after all.
A voice started to sound louder than all the others in her head. She softly asked the voices to shut up in her head so she could listen. Surprisingly they listened and one by one the voices started to disappear as the other's voice got a little louder. She tilted her head when the distinctly male voice told her that he was a friend. She was weary as she was weary of most things. Trust did not come easily for Kitten however the voice had been able to get her to make the other ones go away. She spoke with a little more confidence in her head not exactly sure what was going on. She morphed back into a human and scanned the area once again. Was the person that belonged to this voice hiding? She shook her head and said, "Thank you...Umm where are you. I...this is..." She wanted to rattle off in a different language but all she knew well enough to do that with was french. It had been the language her mother had taught her, when she had adopted her. She was thinking rather rapidly and was freaking herself out again but she didn't morph.
"Can you please show yourself. I..I don't like being spied on." She waited to see a person come towards her. She wasn't sure why she wanted to see this person or why she hadn't already run away. Maybe it was because she had felt a sort of familiarity from the voice. She had heard it before she knew that but she had never seen who or what that voice was connected too. She bit her lower lip and her hair turned a sort of white and then became somewhat transparent blending in with the wall of the building.

Kai looked on, not wanting to show himself just yet, due to wanting to see what else this girl would do. He then heard her speak French, which he thought an interesting thing to note. He sighed; she wanted to see him, which was understandable. He supposed he was a tad weird. The blonde seventeen-year-old stepped out and walked down to a reasonable distance between the two. The girl was petite – cute, too. He took a gulp of air and prepared to tell her about Shuujuku but he changed his mind. He needed to gain her trust first before telling her about his new Order. Kai gave a small smile.
Sorry to startle you. I’m Kai. Umm…I saw morph you into a cat, how did you do that? It’s just that I’ve not seen anyone else like me before. It’s just me and my twin sister, Coraline. Maybe he shouldn’t have said that to a complete stranger. He should tell the girl what he meant by that comment; after all he had already used telepathy to communicate with her. I have powers, too. One of them is telepathy, due to meditating. I use this to communicate with my sister, at times. No one knows of this, though. He gave her some time to digest this information. She may not even believe him, though he had just spoken to her using telepathy and he had just seen her morph from a strange grinning cat into a human.
When Kai had first started talking to animals, he’d been so freaked that he’d locked himself in his room, though that had been pointless as the mother bird had started singing and all he had wanted to do was strangle her. He had a thought then, he could recruit this girl to Shuujuku. She had powers like he and Coraline did. He wondered how she’d react, though. She could slap him and run off. Kai had to try but he’d bide his time, see what she was like first.

Kitten was trying very hard not to freak out as she waited for the person to show themselves. She was not exactly okay with them seeing her and she not seeing them. She hadn't even realized that she herself was slowly blending into the wall. It took her a moment to shake herself completely and to calm herself so that she was once again looking as she had when she left her house. Her blonde hair moved in a slow breeze and she stood her ground. She wasn't sure why the voice in her head wasn't freaking her out. She was actually getting used to it. She was talking in her own head too which was what was making her curious and such. She watched as he walked up to her. Her head tilted for a moment like a cats would before she righted it again. She was very interested in the boy that had come up to her. He didn't seem to use his words at all. Making her wonder if he could talk.
She shrugged it off not really caring and feeling little more at ease with what was around her. A little more control did wonders to the feline like girl. Her bluegreen eyes studied him for a moment and she thought about what he had to say. He was asking such interesting questions and saying such interesting things that she couldn't help but put a rather interesting looking grin or smile on her face. A signature all her own but very similar to that of her father. She knew nothing about him so she was not sure what the boy was talking about it. He had seen her morph though and the thought that someone else could be like her made her a bit more curious. She let him speak and then thought about it for a momet.
"Its alright. The voices made things a bit worse. Your's just happened to be louder and easier to focus on." She said in a rather sweet voice and a little more to the point then she normally was. "What is all this talk about me being like you and who's this sister you speak of? She was no longer even thinking actually as she had said everything she had wanted to say. Words were rather powerful in her mind and that was why she spoke in certain ways. She really wanted to know what types of powers he had. If there were truly others that were going through weird things too. "The morphing thing can be terrifying at times. Doesn't help that it happens when i'm already freaked out." She wasn't sure why she had said that but that was all she was going to say. She would wait for him to answer her.
((ooc: pink is for speaking in thoughts and purple is for speaking normally))

It’s hard to say that I’d rather stay awake when I’m awake Because my dreams are bursting at the seams Kai heard her ask her question and figured it’d be best to show the blonde girl. He gestured for the girl to watch. He saw a dust bin near the back of the alleyway and went to it. Kai thrust out his hand and lightning burst forth from his fingers. The bin crackled and after a few minutes, erupted into flames. Kai looked to her and gave her a small smile and a shrug. He wondered what she would think of that display. He just hoped no one else had seen it otherwise he’d be in trouble.
I have other powers, such as being able to track others like me. One example being when someone near to me is like me, I get a tingling sensation and then an invisible to others magic coloured ribbon thread flutters so I can see them, and then they disappear. Kai didn’t want to tell her all of his powers, which he would do in time. He noticed her blend into the wall and took note of that. Invisibility was a pretty handy power to have. It would prove useful at some point. Maybe he should show her the training, just so she knew what she was getting herself into. He didn’t know if she knew how to use her powers properly but Kai was willing to help her.
I’m mute – that’s why I don’t talk. I gained telepathy through meditation. That blending power and the morphing, does that happen a lot? If you want, I can help train you in those powers. They’re fantastic! Kai smiled at the last thought. They truly were. He waited for her answer.

Kitten watched when Kai gestured her. He didn't really need to do that as he had her full attention at the moment. There wasn't really anything that was going to distract her for the moment. Moments later she was walking up to a trash bin that he had burst into flames. She looked at it for a moment and then to him and back to it recalling the lightning she had seen burst from him fingers. Well that was an interesting display to say the least. She wondered what else he could do but would not ask that question either within her head for him to read or out loud. Moments later his voice was in her head again. He had other which made her smile. She was just getting used to the morphing thing. She hadn't really realized the blending in thing yet.
She titled her head at the idea of an invisible thread. "What does mine look like?" People always say curiosity killed the cat but sometimes they didn't realize how much the cat actually figured out because of its own curiosity. She giggled inwardly and began to listen to his voice again. She actually hadnt realized she had asked her question about her thread in her head to him. It was a rather interesting thing to her. The ability to talk to someone in your mind made things a bit well fun and then again drove a person even crazier then they might already be and she liked that concept as well. She was a strange person none the less.
She gave a nod of her head to his way of speaking. She tilted her head when he mentioned blending in. "I was blending into something?" She thought for a moment. "I knew about the morphing thing and its terrifying but you say that you can help train me?" What would it really hurt. After all she needed someone who understood what was going on with her. She needed a way to control things before she...well before people tried to lock her away or worse kill her because of what she could do. "Alright what is this training you speak of." It was said in a whisper as she looked towards the opening of the alley way. "We should likely get out of here." SHe said in her head and them looked around for a quick exit and found a ladder heading up to the roof of a building and smiled. She was goig to have some fun. She climbed it with grace and ease and about half way up she faded from site and appeared again at the top of the ladder a hand out to Kai having not really noticed anything else had happened.

It’s hard to say that I’d rather stay awake when I’m awake Because my dreams are bursting at the seams Kai smiled when the girl asked what hers looked like. She seemed to be taking this rather well, for someone, who had moments ago, been freaking out. He had seen his own one once; it had been silver in colour. His sister’s one was similar in colour. Yours is a sort of violet blue colour. Mine is silver, my favourite colour. Kai wondered how many of them were out there; children with powers. If he could find them and help them to have a support system, that’d be great. He knew that he and Coraline had been freaked when they had first discovered their powers.
The brunette boy was surprised; did the girl not know she had that power? Perhaps this girl was new to her powers? It would explain why she didn’t know about the blending in part. At that moment, Kai knew what Shuujuku would be about: helping others who have powers to master them. It was at that moment the girl asked about the training. Had she been reading his thoughts? It was possible but she didn’t seem too adept at telepathy, yet. That would change if she agreed to the training. The meditating and the practice had helped him immensely, he found.
“Well, it’s based on meditation, which does help and practicing your powers. It’d be intense at times, so I hope you can deal with intense.
Before he knew it, she had said that they needed to get out of here and watched as she climbed up and then disappeared, reappearing on the roof. Kai climbed and grabbed her hand, pulling himself up. He smiled in gratitude and gave a small, silent sigh. It occurred to Kai that the blonde girl hadn’t told him her name.

Most people considered Kitten a little odd. Okay so more than a little odd as she always seemed to speak a truth in a round about way. She also never really seemed daunted or phased by things that others would be. The only time she really freaked out was when others were causing chaos she had no hand in and when she was being watched. She hated being watched the most but otherwise things were always interesting with her. She was curious about everything and that had never changed. So when the boy had told her that he could see a ribbon of color and had followed that she wanted to know what it looked like. She wanted to know if it was the color that she usually dreamed in. He finally told her what hers looked like and a smile came across her face almost like a signature grin for another. It was the color she usually dreamnt in. She wondered if that was the color of her soul. She shrugged that off after all too many questions at once might make her a little bit too overwhelmed. No tackling one thing at a time would be better.
Kitten was fairly new to all the powers things. She had known about morphing into a cat but she'd kinda just woken up one day like that. It actually all started about a week ago when she woke up from a terrible nightmare that she wasn't sure why she was having it. She had actually been dreaming in true to life color and not her usual color. On top of that there were very louds voices or rather audio that had come into her dream which didn't usually happen either. She had been so afraid that when waking up she had morphed. That of course freaked her out even more. So no she did not know she could do anything else because everything else that happened almost just felt like it was second nature or something like that. Like she might have some inborn control over it but she couldn't be sure. She wondered what else she might be able to do.
She was listening to Kai explain before she made the move to get out of the area. "I can deal with intense after the inital shock of intense.'" She had issues with extreme emotions so it would take her time and she would get used to whatever it was that was thrown at her. A strange detachment might take place but one wouldn't know until one tried and she was up for trying new things. As soon as Kai was up there were people who walked into the alley way they had been in and looked around. The left when they could not find anything out of the ordinary except the trash can. "Kitten though most people call me Lacey or Kitty. I prefer Kitten." She gave him a smile and then lead them towards another ladder that they could climb down and be in the safety of the next alleyway and then they could walk out of that one without anyone caring or at least she hoped so.

It’s hard to say that I’d rather stay awake when I’m awake Because my dreams are bursting at the seams The girl introduced herself as Kitten. Kitten was a strange name to call a girl. He wondered what her parents were like and what had made them name her Kitten. She preferred her full name; something else to take note of. Kai was slowly learning about this girl. He hoped she would join Shuujuku – he could help her with her powers so much, he felt. There was so much Kitten didn’t know about her powers, like her being able to blend in with her surroundings, for example. The blonde girl smiled and lead Kai to another ladder; presumably to another alleyway, though Kai didn’t know why they had left the other one.
It’s good to meet you, Kitten.
The view from up on the roof was quite good. He didn’t go up on rooftops very often but maybe he should start. He liked the view and it was relatively quiet, depending on where you were. The brunette silently inhaled and exhaled, wondering how many people like him were out there. He wanted to find others; to help them; to make them understand that they didn’t need to fear their powers. They could be quite cool when people trained how to use them
So, are you up for being in Shuujuku? I could help you. My sister could help you. We can help others like us achieve full control of their powers.
Kai hoped she said yes to joining Shuujuku. Coraline would like her, he thought. They could do some girl bonding if they liked each other.

Kitten had never found her name strange. On top of that when she was adopted her mother didn't seem to mind it either. However, her adoptive mother seemed to like to call her Lacey more often then not. It didn't really matter to her. She got odd stares usually when she introduced herself. She usually shrugged it off. Then again she was a longer most of the time and she liked it that way. She only had a few people that she would even say she saw frequently enough to call them aquaintences if that. However, those thoughts never really entered her mind but the way that the other seemed to be looking at her when she said it. Kitten shook her head and smiled at the other as he repeated her name. He was a rather interesting person.
She in her own little way was studying him. Thinking about whether she really actually trusted him to help her. It was hard for her to trust many people in the first place. She watched his reaction to being on the roof and smirked to herself. She did this frequently enough to evade others finding her. As she never liked being watched by others. She titled her head as he mentioned a group names. She shrugged as his question for a moment. "I suppose I could but all this still has me a little umm weary but I'm curious. As I love to satisify my curiosity."

It’s hard to say that I’d rather stay awake when I’m awake Because my dreams are bursting at the seams Kai wondered if he should actively search for others like him and Coraline. There were pros and cons to doing it, like anything really. On the one hand, it might be fun searching for others like him, Coraline and Kitten but on the other, his family may not let him just go off exploring. His adoptive family didn’t know of his and Coraline’s abilities, really. Sure, they may have seen the mute boy spending time with some animals but they didn’t know why. They also didn’t know why the two kept going out after school to heavens knows where.
Kai smiled to the blonde girl. She liked to satisfy her curiosity, eh? That was interesting. Perhaps he should mention Shuujuku only consisted of him and his sister, that way she may be more inclined to join the group. He wanted the group to grow and become like a family; helping each other out and being close to one another. He wouldn’t admit it but at times, the Starshines didn’t feel like a proper family to him. He knew it sounded weird but that’s how he felt.
The group only has me and my sister, at the moment. I’d love it if you did join. I want to make Shuujuku into like a little family; one that can be close to one another and help each other out when needed.
He smiled, hoping she would join. He’d loved it if she did.

Once Kitten set her mind to things there was no stopping her. It didn't matter that her adoptive mother would ask questions. It was evident that she would tell her mother what she felt was needed. It had been like that since Kitten could remember and her mother let her do as she wished most of the time. It was hard on her mother being a single mom and Kitten wasn't the easiest of teens to take care of either. On top of that she knew that her daughter was special so she never really got all that worried as Kitten would always be home or would leave her a note.
The kitten inside of her was very curious indeed. It wanted to know what all of this was and as she look at Kai she could feel the kitten inside of her pop its head up in excitement. She wondered really what all this was and was in tune with her inner kitten as well. They would satisfy the curosity that they two of them had. She listened as Kai spoke about the group again. She thought for a moment what it might mean if she joined such a thing. It would be nice to be able to just morph into a kitten and have no one really care or anything like that. Also it would be nice to have a bit better control over it too. She shrugged it off and maybe it would stop all the voices too. "Alright but I want to meet your sister. I'll join your group." She wasn't sure why she said that without hesitation but even she felt out of place in this world.
Kitten loved her adopted mother don't get her wrong. It was the fact that she loved her that she wanted to learn how to control stuff before it got out of hand and she hurt her mother or something of that nature. She wanted to be able to protect even if she liked a bit of curious trouble now and then.

It’s hard to say that I’d rather stay awake when I’m awake Because my dreams are bursting at the seams Kai waited to hear what the girl would say; waiting to hear whether she would join Shuujuku or not. The blonde youth had been hoping for some more Shuujuku members; he hadn’t found anymore since Valoria and Ryan. He should have a full Shuujuku members meeting at some point; just so the other two can feel more relaxed. The mute seventeen-year-old looked out and for a brief moment, marvelled at the view, before remembering that he was on a roof. He wasn’t fond of heights; he had a little bit of vertigo, which he tried to hide from people, even from his family. He sometimes even didn’t cross bridges due to the height.
When Kai heard the blonde girl’s answer, he was so elated that he smiled and fist bumped the air. Coraline would be happy to have another girl in the group, besides Valoria. There were now four in Shuujuku; Kai and Coraline Starshine, Ryan Bellamy, Valoria Royo and this new girl, Kitten. He sensed that she had massive potential if she learned how to control her powers; they all did. Maybe he should organise a training session for them at some point. It would do them good to train as a team.
Oh, thank you! You’ve made me happy. Coraline will be happy too. There are two others; Ryan and Valoria, who I’m sure you’ll like. Tag: Kitten LynxWords: 228

Kitten looked at Kai for a moment. She was glad he was happy but she really needed to get home before her mother actually called her worried about her. She listened to him when he told her that there were other members and just nodded her head to it. She was now not as curious as she had been before. She just hoped there wouldn't be too many people. She hated being watched and rather liked watching people from her own perch out of their sight most of the time. To many people tended to scare the fourteen year old. She was surprised she could get through half the time. She pulled out a piece of paper and wrote something on it and then handed it to Kai.
"Here's my number if you can't get me any other way. One's my cellphone the other is my house but i don't suggest you call the house unless its an emergency." She smiled at him and then disappeared or it seemed like it. She calmed as she found herself down her own street. She walked into her own house moments later and then into her room and plopped onto her bed.
