Fairy tales and nursery rhymes are very much loved by children, and even adults to some extent. That’s why they are stored in our minds for a later use, so that we might tell our children and our children’s children. These little stories and nursery rhymes allow us to keep a bit of the childishness we leave behind when we grow up, and keep it safe, locking it away for later use every now and then. However, like all things we question the realism of these stories, or at least some people do. Was there ever a Hansel and Gretel or a Beauty and the Beast? We know that the Brothers Grimm were real but was there really a little girl with a red cloak? Let’s indulge our imagination....
The Nine Kingdoms was once a happy world. Beast was able to turn into human form with the help of his true love, Belle. Cinderella, Snow White, Repunzel, Sleeping Beauty and Odette managed to get their happily ever after. Little Red Riding Hood was able to save her dear old granny with the help of the Huntsman and was able to live her life seemingly uneventfully....that is, of course, until she became Queen of the 2nd Kingdom. Ironically, she became wed to the Big Bad Wolf, nicknamed Bigby, and so it was that the Nine Kingdoms fell under a reign of peaceful co-existence, after the rulers had been coronated and had married their true loves. However, as always, where there is good evil comes to cause mayhem. The 3rd Kingdom, previously ruled by Ole King Cole, was now tainted with darkness. Morgan Le Fay, Maleficent and another witch came and forcefully overthrew poor Cole and became joint rulers of the 3rd Kingdom, effectively tainting the Kingdom.
Naturally, the other Kingdoms were horrified by this and tried to aid their comrade but they lost a waged war, but it seems as if the witches had another trick up their nasty sleeves. Two terrifying years later, a new ruler, Harold was willingly placed upon the throne, with Morgan Le Fay as his supposed wife. It wasn’t long before armies were dispatched, and the once peaceful Nine Kingdoms fell into war and darkness. Light came, though, in the form of the Fairy Godmother. She had discovered gateways, gateways that could lead to another world. So, after escaping from the clutches of the thus far unnamed witch, she magically sent a locket to each Kingdom, with instructions on how to activate the gateways...and left the Nine Kingdoms. No one knows where to but curiosity about the lockets and desperation for survival have driven the other Legends to find out. Now, they must go through the gateway, and pass into a world called Earth....
