ALEXIS FAITH WOLFE
. . . . .
Blurring and stirring the truth and the lies,
(So I don't know what's real and what's not)
Always confusing the thoughts in my head,
So I can't trust myself anymore.

. . . . .
Age: 17
Species: Half-Legend
Occupation: None
Playby: Alexz Johnson
Father: Biologically, the Mad Hatter. Raised by Professor Magnus Wolfe.
Mother: None
Siblings: Marco King (18) – Half Brother. Possibly others.
Other: Probably various others.
Likes:
- Live music;; there’s nothing like hearing a band live, and Alexis spends much of her time in casual bars and diners where there’s someone up on stage singing their socks off. It makes her completely relax.
- Living fast;; Alexis is a risk-taker and a rule breaker – slightly off the rails. She claims to not be afraid of death, and she certainly doesn’t seem to have much concern for self preservation. She takes thrills where she can get them.
- Tigers;; quite possibly related to her love of danger, Alexis adores most members of the big cat family. Tigers, however, hold a special place in her heart – there’s just something so… enigmatic about them.
- Freedom;; Alexis is all about being free and having no restrictions. Horrendously claustrophobic, she is most comfortable when in the great outdoors – preferably with no walls in her path.
- Challenges;; be it a crossword, a riddle or a physical endeavour, Alexis likes to be challenged. She is easily bored, and so anything that gives her pause for thought is all to the good.
- Chaos;; life is just not interesting without a little chaos in the mix. Alexis is not a disturber of the peace, exactly, but if she notices the opportunity to cause a little trouble, she throws her two cents in and lets the fun commence.
Dislikes:
- Her adoptive father;; Alexis considers Magnus a liar, and currently believes that she will never forgive him for keeping the truth from her all these years.
- Cowardice;; though Alexis herself will not shy away from a fight, she does judge others that are afraid or too weak to get involved, seeing it as cowardice.
- Confinement;; physical, mental and emotional confinement. Alexis cannot stand being put in a place and kept there, be it by rules or walls or blackmail or some magic trick. She is claustrophobic, and is prone to freaking out if she feels crowded or boxed in.
- Losing;; Alexis is a bad loser. She hates feeling inferior to people in any way, and losing is generally the agreement that someone is better than someone else.
- Losing control;; losing control of herself or of her minor powers is something that Alexis just can’t face, or even think about.
- Bugs;; just gross. Alexis hates most bugs – it’s not a fear, but it is an extreme dislike. This especially applies to the squishy ones, and the ones with six too many legs.
Strengths:
- Lightning generation;; Alexis has some minor lightning magic coursing through her veins. This allows her to shoot bolts from her fingertips to stun or harm, disrupt and short-circuit most electronic systems such as computers (or security devices), and act as a human defibrillator amongst other things. Greater usage of her magic makes her tire quickly.
- Well versed combatant;; Alexis is a decent hand-to-hand and staff fighter, using what she was taught and a mashup of various martial styles. It is an entirely offensive when she is just using her fists and feet, though her staff gives her some allowance for more defensive manoeuvres.
- Not afraid to make hard decisions;; Alexis is the sort who can make those decisions that others might be scared to. Sacrificing a few for the sake of the many? Talk to Alexis, she’ll do it. Need to press that ominous red button to possibly save everyone? Alexis is on that. Mostly, Alexis is good at thinking outside the box and detaching herself from the personal aspects of things like that, which makes her a good leader.
- Good musician;; Alexis plays guitar and occasionally sings, and she’s pretty okay at it. No maestro by any means, but it’s something she enjoys and wants to excel at, so she practises regularly.
Weaknesses:
- Claustrophobic;; here it is. The big one. Alexis is claustrophobic to the point where she will have panic attacks if she is forcibly confined for upwards of half an hour. She always avoids crowded rooms and elevators unless she literally has no other choice but to face them.
- Hot tempered;; Alexis is quick to anger, and her anger comes hard and fast. Once she’s hit melting point, it is very hard to talk her down from being mad. She becomes aggressive and extremely defensive – almost anything can be taken as an insult when she’s at this point.
- Distrustful;; Alexis finds it difficult to trust people at all. She has a few people very close to her heart, but she does not even trust them completely. It takes her a long time to open up to anybody about anything other than superficial aspects of her personality. This also makes her frustratingly independent, to the point where she won’t ask someone for help even if she’s in dire need.
- Reckless;; Alexis seems to have little to no care about her own life. In combat and most dangerous situations, she leaps in headfirst, regardless of the consequences.
Personality:
Alexis is a typical teenage girl. Well, as typical as one can be when they’ve been raised by a brilliant wizard…
Alexis is an intelligent young woman – or at least she would be if she applied herself – who usually uses her intelligence for her own gain. Although not particularly selfish, she looks out for number one first and foremost; there is not really anybody she could say she cares about, so why bother helping others?
Alexis projects an image of someone who is tough-as-nails and who doesn’t need anyone, and for the most part, this is true. She does not trust easily, which can lead to the perception that she is stand-offish and distant when she doesn’t open up to people as quick as they might like.
Alexis has a seriously hot temper that has got her into big trouble on numerous occasions. She doesn’t really get along with anyone in a serious position of authority – people have to earn her respect, and just because they have a job or a title doesn’t mean that they’re exempt from her sarcasm and disdain. If anything, they’re even more subject to it than someone else would be, if only because she might be looking for a fight. If her anger is sparked, the subject of her wrath should watch out; she is aggressive and unpredictable when furious, and it takes her a while to come down off it.
Despite her negative traits, Alexis can be a pretty good friend if someone has her on side. She loves fun and thrills, from rollercoasters to sneaking into locked buildings. She’s very mischievous, a trickster, a prankster, who gets her giggles from coming up with the most daring of dares imaginable. Though she might not trust anyone but her closest friends entirely, she’ll still look out for her allies and buddies if they need her help. She is not the definition of compassionate, but she isn’t cruel, and people do matter to her (even though she’d never outright state it).
Alexis’ independence and dislike of authority all stem from her loneliness and what she feels like rejection by the wizard who made her. This girl has daddy issues coming out of her ears. Honestly, Alexis is just trying to find a place, a purpose in life, a reason for her creation, and she hates that nobody can really give her one. It depresses her to the point where she tries not to think about it, throwing her concentration into her music and distracting herself by having as much fun as she can.
Eyes: Blue-grey.
Hair: Honey blonde, falls in natural waves just below her shoulders.
Physique:
At five feet and five inches tall, and weighing around one hundred and twenty seven pounds, Alexis’ physique is curvy, lean and athletic. She has grown up and out of that baby-fat stage, and is just approaching womanhood. Her skin is fair, and mostly unmarked (aside from the normal scars that come from being a rather rowdy teenager). Though her hair is naturally blonde, she is prone to dying it different colours when she feels like it – most often red.
Alexis usually wears casual clothing that fits her well. She cannot stand wearing clothes that are too loose or tight, and she is rarely ever seen in a dress or skirt. She can normally be found in decent jeans, various tees or button up shirts with a cool jacket. She likes sneakers or high-top shoes, mostly for practicality – she finds that she can run faster in them. She is also a lover of hats, and is forever hunting for the perfect fez to complete her everyday outfit.

History:
The matter of birth is a curious one. Of course, conception comes about in many ways – biologically, most often. We are brought up to believe in the nature of a soul, the defining nature of ‘person’. So what happens when something is created by artificial means? A child, brought about by experiments and arduous testing? If the soul is a purely human trait, gifted by a deity, then what happens when someone else becomes the creator – lording above a manipulation of life? Does that child truly have the right to a soul?
Professor Magnus Wolfe, both scientist and sorcerer, did not care about this question. A man of high standing, and with a considerable interest in the concept of creation, his ultimate success was one that took years of failures to be realised. For decades, he tried to form a child out of nothing but magic and science, an amalgamation that was rare in the world – and continues to be rare, even today. Every one of his experiments failed. At least, until he obtained the missing ingredient.
A sample of DNA from an immortal creature. The Mad Hatter, in this case, a hair so carefully plucked from one of his many hats, fused with Wolfe’s magic and with a dash of scientific ability. He nurtured the foetus as though it was a delicate flower, watching over it at all times of the day until a baby grew. As the child continued to develop at an accelerated rate, he steadily filtered knowledge of reading and writing and mathematics into its brain. Some history, basic skills which would benefit it greatly in later life.
As the child reached the physical age of twelve, he decided that enough was enough, and he would remove it from it’s temporary home, where it had grown. ‘It’ turned out to be female, and in a fit of sentimentality for his new child, he called her Alexis Faith. She was rather disoriented when she emerged from the tank, but he helped her settle and adjust, and even made an effort to connect to her. Wolfe was not a naturally loving man, so it was hard for him, but somehow, he managed. He raised her for several years, teaching her the ways that he himself valued – life, science, magic. She was found to have some magic of her own in her blood, allowing her generation and control over lightning.
He never told Alexis where she had come from; that she wasn’t the result of a union of two people, himself and a woman. He was happy to let her believe that her mother died in childbirth, and he gave her vague, fake memories to support this idea. He continued to teach her – and amongst academic subjects, he also taught her how to fight hand to hand, and with a staff. He was terrifically proud of her proven intelligence and resilience, though she proved to be easily angered and afraid of small spaces, which, though undesirable, were easy to work around.
He brought her up well, until she was sixteen and the false memories started to patch and fade. Before her twelfth birthday, Alexis realised that her recollections didn’t feel right; they felt like she was watching a film of somebody else rather than herself. At first, she put everything down to stress and maybe outside magical interference – maybe someone was trying to get into her head for some reason.
However, after this continued for several weeks, she grew troubled and asked her father about it. She told him that she was afraid that, if it was another wizard or witch, they would be able to take over her mind because she was not as protected as him. Instead of repairing the false memories, Magnus took a plunge and told Alexis the truth. She was made in a magical laboratory, as an experiment to see if he could create real human life out of basically nothing.
It didn’t go well.
In fact, it ended in a bit of a fight, both verbal and physical. Alexis was betrayed and horrified. If she was not human, what was she? Where did that leave her? Was she just a vessel, essentially a tool for his use? The man she had called father for her entire life had lied to her, and had never thought about the consequences for his actions. She flew into an uncontrolled rage, her powers over lightning amplified hugely by her erratic emotional state. Magnus tried to stop her, but to no avail; in a rush of unstoppable fury, she destroyed his tower, and all of his work in an enormous lightning storm.
He was gobsmacked.
Centuries worth of work, tests, projects… gone in a matter of seconds. All due to the child now lying at his feet, unconscious from the strain. His love for her dissipated, and he was shocked to find that he had loved her, albeit only for the brief few years that she had existed properly in the world. No, he did not love her anymore – she was destructive, a loose cannon, and she had no place in his existence any longer. He wrote her a note, and packed her a bag, and then banished her to Earth.
She ended up in Long Island Sound. What a place.
Discovering the note in her pocket, and realising that she had been truly abandoned by Magnus, she cursed life. She was resolved to living out of other peoples’ pockets until she was seventeen, and she did this through theft and occasionally staying with the few who took her in. Some were kind enough to feed her and give her a warm bed, but she was basically homeless. She hated him with her entire heart for what he had done – first the lies, and now this. She found herself living in an abandoned theatre just off one of the avenues – one which had been due to be knocked down for years, but had somehow been forgotten about by the contractors.
And so it is here that Alexis stays – Long Island South, a place she has been forced to call hers for a year.

Role-play Example:
From Weapon XVI’s ‘Boundaries’, April 2012, wherein Betsy Braddock confronts her most difficult student about an incident during his vacation.

Elizabeth Braddock's Office.]
High above the mansion grounds, Elizabeth Braddock surveyed the basketball court. In spite of the recent onset of bad weather, it still saw action - right now, a pair of girls were playing one-on-one, their sneakers slipping on the wet asphalt. As she watched, one of them used her powers to create a small wave, easily buffeting the ball out of her opponent's hands and into the net. she thought moodily to herself. She eyed the happy smiles of her brothers on her desk.
The smile came easily to her lips. She was relaxed and happy, and that was all she could really hope for in life.
Life. Back to life. She needed to stop thinking about her resurrection and focus on the present, but it was difficult to not marvel and be suspicious of such a miracle. What had she done to deserve being restored to her body in perfect health after a certain death?
There have been so many changes as of late.
She had spent the good part of the morning in the Danger Room, as was usual, sparring against a high-level simulation of Sabretooth. It had worked the tension from her muscles and the exhaustion from her mind, and now she felt at peace. Though lunch had been brief, she had been fortunate enough to talk to one of the three students she was currently mentoring.
The girl was young and timid, and Betsy was trying to encourage her out of her shell. It was difficult, but she knew the eventual outcome would be worth the effort.
She grimaced, turning from the window. It was now two thirty, and another of her students should be arriving soon.
Peter Emile had not proven to be a problem, as such. He was not an impossible boy, but he had habits and kinks that she needed to break before they could make any progress. Some of them were so ingrained into his psyche, however, that she was concerned it might take years.
After hearing about a less-than-stellar incident in Canada, it had fallen to Psylocke to do something about it. She needed to set out some ground rules, to lay down the law. This sort of behaviour, even in another country, was unacceptable. He was an X-Student, and his attitude reflected on the school. She had sent him a mental message after her spar.
As if I didn't have enough to worry about already,
I'm doing the best I can, just like you guys.
She sighed heavily, expelling the bad thoughts in that breath, and then sat down at her desk, legs crossed at the knee. She hoped he would not be much longer.[/blockquote]
