Aella
. . . . .
I can do anything
I am strong
I am invincible
. . . . .
Age: Aella’s true age is about 5,520, but she appears to be in her mid-twenties.
Species: Legend
Kingdom: Third Kingdom
Occupation: Sorceress
Playby: Kate Winslet
Father: Thurston (deceased)
Mother: Gwendolyn (deceased)
Siblings: N/A
Other: Children: Kai Starshine (Half-Legend), Coraline Starshine (Half-Legend); Alecto Maelstrom (Half-Legend), Arabella Maelstrom (Half-Legend), Alexandra Maelstrom (Half-Legend), Arya Maelstrom (Half-Legend), Adrienne Maelstrom (Half-Legend); she probably has other children because, well, she’s over 5,000 years old. Half-Legends or Legends (originally Half-Legends, of course), it doesn’t matter. So PM me (Elle) if you would wish to make one of her children.
Likes: Power, money, magic and sorcery, Morgana and Maleficent and other witches/wizards on her side, controlling the Third Kingdom (or at least helping to), things going her way, making people she doesn’t like suffer, thunderstorms, a challenge
Dislikes: All of the goody-two-shoes in the Nine Kingdoms, The Fairy Godmother, Glinda, those who try to stop her, children (for the most part), feeling or being helpless/weak, boredom
Strengths: Clever; intelligent; knows how to make allies; determined; powerful with magic; fearless; bold; independent; patient with her endeavors.
Weaknesses: Greedy; yearns for power; merciless; cold; insensitive; controlling; fairly easy to anger; envious; arrogant; conceited; thinks too highly of herself and her power, and underestimates others; deceitful; untrustworthy; extremely selfish; has gained quite a lot of enemies over the years.
Personality: One of the best ways to describe Aella is “greedy”. She desires almost everything; money, power, and sometimes, even sex. As a rule of thumb, power is Aella’s deepest desire. She has turned into quite the powerful sorceress over the millenia that she’s been alive, and hates the feeling of being weak or helpless because of it. Aella will do almost anything to get power, including trampling over, hurting, and killing other people. She is insensitive and cold to others for this reason, and doesn’t really see suffering as a bad thing; in fact, she quite enjoys it ... as long as it’s not coming in her direction.
Another good word to describe Aella would be “controlling”. Because she likes power, she also likes to feel in control, especially over herself and those who “work” for her. So, most likely, if you “work” for her and you are not a powerful witch or wizard like Morgana, it’s probably best not to cross her, because she could get quite violent with you.
With the desire for power also comes envy. Aella detests when other people have more power than her, and she will do anything to show that they do not. She also gets jealous of when other people have more things than her; these things include material things and even lovers, family, and friends. It is because of this that she does not care for the family dynamic -- because she can’t have one. Whenever she’s tried, she’s failed, and she has grown restless with trying over the years.
Aella has a tendency to be very arrogant and conceited. She thinks too highly of herself and her abilities, and often underestimates other people. This clouded judgement gives her very little skills with people, reading them and whatnot. Although she likes to use others’ weaknesses to her advantage, Aella does not pay much attention to others’ strengths (except for those few she thinks are equal -- or almost equal -- to her, like Morgana), which gives her a distorted view of what they are truly capable of.
The witch is rather clever, and often uses trickery and deceit to her advantage. One can never trust her word, and although she is a powerful ally, she is not a loyal ally. She would stab you in the back if she got a better offer, or if she saw what she truly wanted in plain sight and thought should could obtain it herself. That being said, she has gained quite the number of enemies over the years, but due to her cleverness, she always seems to be able to make allies.
Aella is very determined in her endeavors. She is also extremely patient with them, as she will wait a long time to make sure that they are fulfilled to their truest extent. She has this certain fearlessness about her, which can also cause her to be a bit too reckless, but also makes her brave; however, as Aella is also notably selfish, she would never sacrifice herself or anything she holds dearly to save anyone else.
Eyes: The closest thing you could use to describe Aella’s eye color would be blue-green. They change in shade depending on what she adorns herself with, but are always in the blue-green region.
Hair: Aella has long, lustrous red hair that falls in natural curls halfway down her back. Depending on what she’s doing, she’ll wear it up or down; if she has to fight or something of the likes, she’ll usually wear it up in some kind of bun, but if she’s just relaxing, she’ll usually let it flow free past her shoulders.
Physique:Aella stands at a height of 5’6”. She has a slim build, though is also curvaceous and a bit busty. She always carries herself tall and proud, with her back very straight. She likes the feeling of being taller than other people, so she’ll often look down on people, and even try to if they’re taller than her ... or simply just not look at them at all. Aella’s skin is pale, and she often wears dark make-up, especially dark red lipstick.

History: Aella was born a very long time ago, long before surnames were a common thing, and she can barely remember the first years of her life. She was born to a poor peasant family. Her parents owned a small farm, and they were always in debt to those that had more money than them, especially their landlord. As soon as she could walk, Aella began helping her mother with chores around the house. She also accompanied her parents to a small village nearest to their farm whenever they needed supplies or food.
The one thing she can remember in vivid detail, though, is the death of her parents. At the time, Aella was about eight years old. Aella’s father was deep in debt to his landlord, a stingy man who enjoyed cheating people out of their money. After too many months of getting “inadequate” payments from Thurston and Gwendolyn, the landlord came to their house and killed them, right in front of Aella’s eyes. Unfortunately, it wasn’t such an uncommon practice back then. However, the landlord let Aella survive, but he threw her out on the street and left her to fend for herself. it was a very bad move, on his part. He should have just killed her. That would have made things much easier for him.
Aella grew very spiteful as she grew from a child into a young adult, and always had vengeance for her parents on her mind. When she was about thirteen, she found somebody who was willing to teach her magic; for a price, of course. Everything was always for a price, and this was no exception. Aella basically made herself the man’s mistress, and for five years he taught her the laws of magic. As she continued to learn the ways of sorcery, Aella became increasingly more powerful, and she began using that power to her advantage. Eventually, after her mentor had forced her into his bed too many times, she became sick of it and killed him in his sleep, with magic. She left no trace, and made what was truly a murder look like it was just a heart attack. After that, Aella left the town, and searched for two years for her family’s previous landlord, who had moved on somewhere else, somewhere warmer with more wealthy people. When Aella did find him, she murdered him, but made sure to torture him first; sure, he had not tortured her parents, but he deserved what he got either way. It did not matter to Aella what was “fair” and what was not, not anymore. She figured that she had been through enough in life for fair to be her getting what she “truly” deserved.
Aella later fell in love with a simple carpenter, whom she married. The couple ended up having two children, Kai and Coraline. Unfortunately, the son of the landlord that Aella had killed came to seek revenge on her, and ended up getting it; he killed her husband and two children, aged five and three. Before he could get to Aella, though, she killed him with her magic. After that, she became obsessed with power, and would do whatever it took to keep herself on top -- or in the least, happy. She had been at the bottom for so long, and she desired to be at the top. She craved it, and it was the only thing she yearned for. So, after a few more years, a lot more murders, and a lot more power gained primarily through magic, Aella became a Legend.
Aella reigned terror over kingdoms for the next few millenium, trying to get the power that she had always desired, but somehow always seeming to fall short. Only a couple hundred years after Aella was turned a Legend, she killed the entire family of a young girl, who later turned into a Legend -- the Fairy Godmother. The situation was eerily similar to the way that Aella’s own family had been killed; the family owned her a debt, and when it was not paid, Aella decided to kill them. The young girl was lucky enough to be hiding inside a cupboard, and so was spared. Aella later regretted that she had not killed the little brat, and that she had been stupid enough to just take what was right in front of her, instead of searching.
Several millenia later, and quite a few years ago, a good witch put a curse on Aella to make her blind; the only way that the curse could be broken was by Aella sacrificing her own life, left to be reincarnated for an undisclosed amount of time. Aella, thinking she was clever enough to evade the good witch’s curse, made plans to get her sight back -- which mainly involved killing other people. Unfortunately for Aella, she was tricked by a pair of children named Hansel and Gretel when trying to sacrifice them, and was killed.
Almost right after reforming, Aella created two half-Legend children through aritificial means. She fused a split strand of the Fairy Godmother's hair to create two children, twins, whom she named Kai and Coraline, after her long deceased children. The two were fourteen when they were created, and Aella kept them for two weeks, trying to get them to hone into their magical abilities. When they seemed to have none, she was crushed, because she had created them for the purpose of defeating her long-time enemy, the Fairy Godmother. When Kai and Coraline seemed of no use to her, Aella wiped their memories and sent them to Earth.
Not too long after Kai and Coraline were sent away, Aella also made, through magical experimentation, another group of artificially created "children" -- this time, quintuplet girls. When they were completed, they came out at about sixteen years old. Their names are as follows: Alecto, Arabella, Alexander, Arya, and Adrienne, and they all share a common surname: Maelstrom. Aella kept them -- as in, did not wipe their memories and send them to a land without magic -- because they showed magical potential very early. She taught them to hone in on their magic for two years, and they are about eighteen, in appearance, now. The girls are supposed to be Aella's personal servants, to help her kill the Fairy Godmother, but also to fight and be by her side whenever she wants them to be.
When Aella reformed, she soon found herself in the company of Morgana and Maleficent, who were plotting to take over the 3rd Kingdom. Naturally, Aella wanted in, and she began to gather the forces of all of the “bad” Legends, half-Legends, and even humans in the nine kingdoms to make herself an army. After taking over the 3rd Kingdom, Aella and her forces all overtook the 6th Kingdom -- the kingdom that belonged to the Fairy Godmother.
Soon after taking over the 3rd Kingdom, Aella begrudgingly stepped down from power to let Morgana and her new husband Harold rule over the land; she doesn’t like it, but if it’s what she has to do to remain comfortable and of nobility in the kingdom, then she’s going to do it -- at least for now.

Role-play Example:
If she were being honest with herself, Freya would have to admit that she was scared. And, as she was almost always honest, she did admit it to herself. She had even cried a little bit that morning. Her father had held her in his arms and told her it was going to be alright, that there was no way they were going to pick her, but somehow his words did nothing to soothe her. She was still scared. Still terribly scared.
Freya stood in a roped off area next to several other demigods her age, playing with the hem of her skirt. She had decided to wear her "good outfit" today, just in case she got on television. What a wonder it would be, to be on television ... she had only seen a television a few times in her life, most of them in books. She had read a book about them, about how they worked, but had never watched one before. However, the people who had televisions in the richer districts must have been watching, because she could see bugged-eyed cameras all around them.
The first two names were Ares kids. He was the god of war. Freya had read that in a couple of books. The girl looked extremely confident, and even ... happy? Freya frowned slightly at the notion. Why was she -- ?
"Freya Rusakov."
It took a few moments for Freya's own name to register in her eyes. And even when it did, she stood there, paralyzed. This couldn't be real. It couldn't be her ...
The centaur called her name again, even louder this time. Freya shut her eyes tightly, took in a deep, shuddering breath, and finally began walking towards the stage. She walked slowly at first, and then started to gain more speed, before she reached the stage on two shaky legs. The climb up was only a few seconds long, but it seemed a lot longer than that. And when she was up on the stage, she heard somebody shout her name. She turned around and heard it again, this time more despairingly. Just as she locked eyes with her father, a few guards came and grabbed him and dragged him away.
"Daddy..."
Freya swallowed a lump in her throat, and then the tears started to slip out of her eyes, making little trails down her cheeks. She heard her name called one more time, desperately, and then she turned around and walked to the creature that had called her name.
