The stallion screamed as it reared up, fighting the reins in her easy grip and the way her knees directed him. His black coat was already gleaming with sweat. Every day it was like this. The moment she was on he flew apart. Everything he could to send her flying off his back. And for her it was much the same. She was staying and that was that. Gretel laughed out loud as her braid whipped around her neck, bending further over the stallions neck as he charged the fence, turning into a buck at the last moment. She probably looked crazy, riding the craziest stallion of the royal stables in only a light saddle and a halter. No bit. And she could feel the joy and adrenaline rushing through the powerful animal between her thighs.
Gretel twisted the reins to pull at his head, the directions coming from her knees as well, and she just grinned as he forcibly darted in the other direction. Flying into a rear again. Here we go. The German girl threw herself forward onto his neck, her body weight forcing him half way down, and then she leaned back again. The stallion made a shrill cry of confusion at the new tactic she'd thought of. Squealing and trying to land from his rear. But her weight wouldn't let him. The Legend princess chuckled, whipping her braid over her shoulder while she tightened her hands on the reins, throwing her weight against his movement again. Forcing him to balance on two legs. She could feel the sweat beginning to form on his sides and his neck where her hands pressed. And he gave another neigh of protest.
Gretel waited, body perched carefully and fighting against his movement, sweat soaking her body from the earlier exertion. And then she could feel it, his muscles quivering and the suddenly placid way he acted. The warrior loosened her hold, gently easing her weight forward again, his soft noise was gratitude. And Gretel grinned lightly, Rainer tossed his head, exhaustion in every movement as he kneeled down. The traditional horse bow that was occasionally seen in talking animals was something she'd trained him for. In the few moments like these when they were both worn down and content. The Legend swung her leg off of him, casually dismounting from the saddle. Pain shot up her thighs from cramped muscles.
But the girl just laid her hand on the dark stallion's muzzle. No one would ever understand the relationship between her and Rainer. They fought, they struggled for dominance, and who ever came out victorious in the end, they always came back for more. And they both loved it. Gretel reached up a hand to smooth down her hair, exhaling slowly as she tried to slow her racing heart. She could still feel Rainer's pounding against his chest. He'd be worn down for the next two days after this. And she'd work more training in. But third day? They'd be back to this. Fighting for dominance like lions in this corral. Day after day until someone won the fight again.
The Legend turned her head, amusement glittering in green eyes as she looked at her audience. Rainer's look wasn't so polite as he snorted and bared his teeth the observer. But she just grinned, leaning lightly against her stallion while fingers traced between the withers. "Enjoy the show?"

The soft music coming from the pipe he held to his lips wasn't getting much enjoyment today. A spell weaved in the air around him telling everyone he wasn't there. Whispering straight to the synapses in their brain, don't hear, don't see. He isn't there. Nothings there. This wasn't one of his songs that made the world to bright and the heart and soul sing and cry for you to dance. It was subtle, bearing audible to his ears, and none existent to anyone else. And it was the pair on the inside of the corral fence he was lounging at that drew his attention. The Piper's dual shaded eyes following them curiously as they fought for control. Of course he knew who she was, Princess Gretel, Red Cloak, adopted daughter of the queen. Suicidal horse tamer. Not that he didn't see the appeal in their endless fight.
The Pied Piper's sharp eyes watched, surprised and alarmed at the tactic she picked up. Interesting, fight his balance, force him on his hind legs. Fantastic. He'd seen people ride horses into exhaustion before, not letting them slow until they shook with exhaustion. Most people didn't survive riding a horse like that. Not a wild one. But never before had he watched someone use a horse's fighting against them. The Piper's sensitive fingertips played over the holes in the pipe, keeping up the magic and the song as he watched. A fantastic rider. And as he watched the horse stopped fighting, perched on his hind legs, not even trying to come down. And just like that she eased him down again.
The Piper leaned against the post, grinning around the pipe as the horse bowed. Rainer, powerful beauty. Rode only by the princess. She was probably the only person who could. And then his eyes followed her gaze to the person she addressed. The queen. The soft music continued, disguising him as he watched the three. Of course one of them might try to take his head off when he let the music fade, but what's life without a little risk?
